"Porsche 928 expedition" : from Paris to Calcutta
Hi guys!
Here we are, our friends, Philippe Delaporte and his son Baudouin will soon leave France to reach Calcutta in India.
This 10.000 miles journey through 18 contries, without any assitance, will begins september 24th, near the Effeil Tower in Paris.
A Porsche 928 GT has been specially prepared for this unique odyssey.

Sharks in the neighbourhood are most welcome for this meeting!
Cheers,
Michel

That's quite a trip, and the 928 would not normally be the first car that comes to mind for this. I wish them a safe trip, and lots of fun!
Obviously, the car has been raised a bit, and the front spoiler has been omitted. Can you guys tell, if they left a belly pan in place, to protect the engine and its periphery?
Did they say where they will during this trip? Camping?
It looks like they used an incredibly beautiful GT with full leather interior for this. Apart from the holes they had to drill, it will likely suffer significantly in its cosmetics.
Perhaps they can send it to L'Oreal after they return...

Epic journey, exactly what our 928's are made for!
The generic and specifly made preparations are impressively executed (as for example: http://www.porsche-928-expedition.co...ation-raid.php ).
Thanks Michel for making us here aware.

Here's the thread where the project was introduced to our club :
http://translate.google.fr/translate...D13%26t%3D5053
You'll found there some more details about the way both the journey and the car are prepared.
Nicole made a perfect resume of the different feelings shared among our selachian community, but once we discovered how professionnaly this project was handled, we had no choice but support this family team.
Cheers,
Michel

GT with sunroof delete....nice ride. These guys are going to have the adventure of a lifetime!
I like the photos of India they chose for the website. The dude with the painted face belongs to a religion where they consume massive quantities of pot on a daily basis.
Thanks for sharing this info with us.
