I thought the 928 was the only true Porsche as it was designed and build from the ground up by Porsche and not based on some VW at some time and the far and distant past - tongue very much in cheek 8>)

Burning Brakes
I have been driving 911s since 1988 and have never met another 911 owner that would look down upon the 928. I had been looking for the right 928 for decades only got turned off by the warped interior panels and cigarette smell. And then I would somehow bump into another 911 and bought that instead. Then I realized that I would never buy a 928 if I continued to be so **** as I aged. So I bought 2. Real Porsche guys or car guys like great cars. I doubt there are too many of these pompous 911 ********.

As for your question "two what?", that's probably best left unanswered.

Race Car
My syntax and grammar were both correct. Use of the second person pronoun "you two" to refer to the two individuals being directly addressed does not require an additional noun.
Feel free to keep workin' it though.

Hello,
I should have known better. A supervisor at work got wind of my search for a 928. He told me there was someone I HAD to meet. He was a Porsche racing driver and a driving instructor.
This morning, he pigeonholed me into going to this guy's office. Supervisor heard he might have a set of Porsche service manuals for sale.
We cordially meet. Then he finds out I am a 928 guy. His nose all but crinkles up at me. Sigh. I get to spend the next 10 minutes looking at photos as he describes his race 911 and 930. He ended with the comment, "of course you won't be racing a 928."
On the upside, I will be buying a set of Porsche 928 service manuals from him...

I have a real soft spot for the 912. Seems to me it's the ultimate iteration of the 356 and I loved my 356's. I'd love a '76 Targa b/c of the galvanized corrosion resistance. But that's me.

Excellent and varied responses from all.
Thanks!
Yes, I do have my 'big-boy panties' on. I am not overly concerned by this gentleman's attitude. More like bemused. I have not been looked down upon, especially for something silly, in a very long time. It caught me by surprise.
Don, you did attempt to make a valid point. However, you lost me at 'wannabe gearhead.' I have turned over a well thought out response over the past few hours. Instead, to hell with it. Getting into an argument is just not worth it.
The 928 community that I have met has welcomed me like family. That is good enough for me.

Own both, the harder i push the 928 the better it does. the harder i push the 911 the more squirrelly it becomes. Each has it own set advantages. Just ignore him and enjoy your car. I don;t do much racing, but did some pit crew work in ALMS series. It is very evident, it is not the car, but the driver that is important.

I have had air-cooled 911's for more years than I care to remember and have meet hundreds of other owners in different countries and cannot recall ever hearing negative comments or knock downs of the 928 apart from a bit of banter between mates and that would happen no matter what car you turned up in.
On the other hand after being involved in various 928 forums since my recent purchase I have noticed negative comments directed to the 911 such as "glorified beatle" " etc etc
Both cars are great but also very different and obviously a 911 or 928 owner thinks theirs is best otherwise they wouldn't have purchased it.
I am lucky enough to have both and I love my 928 but love my 911 a little bit more
