I'd start with an '87 or '88 5-speed to have the S4 electrical system, put OB bumper covers on it, carbon fiber roof (and wherever else...), and let Singer work their magic on the proper look for fender flares and stance. 17 inch phone dials, needs some sidewall. Petrol Blue or Lilac, dark brown/black interior.

As far as engines go, purely for the look I'd want a GB 16V motor. I'd want however much displacement would max out the breathing and fuel capacity of an M28.21 twin dizzy motor, since it's LH2.2 and therefore sharktunable.

A stock-looking S4 intake with the right underpinnings maxes at 400/400 at the wheels, as evidenced by Jim C's new motor. What would a maxed out 16V stroker do?

They gut the cars and make their own harness from scratch. I've read the wiring work alone on a Singer 911 is worth more than most 928's.

Other Singer builds have used AEM Infinity, which is the same system twin turbo Todd is looking to switch to in place of Autronic.

I would hope something close to their other builds which is over 90hp per liter.

LOL, good point. I'd forgotten that 'little' detail- my penance will be to go back and watch every Singer-related vid on YouTube. Again....

Mostly I want to see what they'll do to the interior.

They have a close relationship with Johnathan Ward from Icon4x4 (http://icon4x4.com/fj) who builds outrageous Land Cruisers and other models in the same vein as Singer. I believe his influence is pushing them in this direction. Looking at the Icon trucks, they are thoroughly modern platforms while keeping a nod to the original design in aesthetics.

Nope, entire shell is re-skinned in carbon, only the door skins remain metal for safety reasons.

'IF' they were to do a 928 there would be little of the resulting vehicle you could truly compare to any stock year model. Just take a good look at the Singer seats and the inlet manifold, seems like it might be a Porsche part, and may have been originally based on one (manifold yes - seats no), but the end result is something that has evolved from base Porsche DNA only.

seriously, buy the book

OK even the roof skin ??? descriptions vary by articles but at those prices I guess you can get just about anything you want.
Any truth to the rumor that the 928 will only be offered as an automatic ?

I don't want a Singer 928.

But I would REALLY love to see
a full-on
no-holds-barred
no-expense-spared
top-to-bottom front-to-back side-to-side
completely and utterly revised
Greg Brown 928.

The roof is steel (and doors). I saw a video were he showed we the carbon finished and were bonded to steel on the roof.

Got it so the basic chassis is the steel uni-body... for a number of reasons I prefer steel rear 1/4s but no matter I am not buying one....

Agreed, but a few 93-95 GTS's have gotten into 6 figures and that's pretty remarkable. Market is all about desirability and numbers. GTS's are highly desirable and numbered in the hundreds, A Singer-built car of any flavor is many times more so.

Since this is about Singer automobiles, I wasn't aware of a 911 version selling for over six figures either...

As for a 928 selling for the six figure mark, that ship sailed back when an air cooled 911 Turbo sold for about the same as a new Boxster:

https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...sale-sold.html

That's not the only one either.

But hey...who knows. The market could crash tomorrow allowing me to sell my Scirocco and use the funds to pick up a 356 Speedster.

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a Alex-ed 928 as I have most of the bits to get there...

Will start with an early car as they are more feelsome. Cannot say why, but having had a Euro S2 5-spd, a GT and a 1993 GTS 5-spd, the early car felt best.

Body:

CF front fenders with very subtle flares
CF rear quarters with GTS flares
CF roof panel
CF bonnet
Kevlar bumper bars
No rubbing strips
Original doors for crash protection
Cup mirrors

Wheels, Chassis and Brakes:
18" Teledials 265" fronts and 295 rears on 10 and 11 respectively. Alternatively, use the best looking wheel ever designed BBS E88 in Weiss Gold in the same size
KW 2-way suspension based on their competition series
996/7 6-piston front calipers and 4 piston rears running 350 and 330 discs
Bosch 4-channel ABS

Engine + Drivetrain:
Our very own 5.5lts GTS based, ITB-ed beast - you have seen the pics
Our very own custom headers and exhaust - you have seen the pics
Motec or Augtronic or Pectel ECU - the choices are endless
2-plate early style clutch
CF driveshaft in an aluminium torque tube
Gear linkage mounted on the torque tube with a single pivot point upfront
G28.52 with an external oil cooler and LSD

Interior:
Leather dash and CC
Alcantara headlining
Cobra CF seats trimmed with Pasha inserts
rear seats delete
additional sound deadening where it matters
working HVAC
Porsche retro stereo/Navigation + better speakers
Digidash
Electric cruise from a later car

Can be easily accomplished I think. Whether there would be a market for it, I don't know...
