This is the "Lizard" shifter.

I had one of these on my track car for a couple of years. LOVED it. snick, snick, never missed a shift during 'spirited' driving with it. functioned ALMOST like a gated shifter.

I have a set of 928 MS front and rear shift couplers available as well. Removed when we installed the 6-speed Z06 upgrade so they only have about 500 miles on them. Price is 75% of what they sell for new. Combine them with this SSK and you'll likely be have shifting nirvana.

The short shifter doesn't fit your Rogerbox cars

It eliminates the front ball cup issue but it does tie the shifter to the body of the car (like a 911) - some people may not agree with that approach.

The feel was greatly improved after I replaced the stock rubber shift **** with a Momo-style ****. It's more "mechanical" in feel and requires noticeably more effort to change gears than the stock assembly.
