Hey Gentlemen, I'm doing my front bearings this week. Is there a preferred product? This is for street driving, but obviously I don't want to take a shortcut and have to worry about a failure at a later date.
I have two products in the garage: MasterPro Hi-Temp (from O'Riley's) or Lube Engineers Almagard 3752 (which I got thru Summit Racing).

Is one better? Either Ok? Different suggestions?

The jug of red grease from Oreilly's has been used on everything on my 944 that has needed grease.
Wheel bearings, manual steering rack, strut top bearings, torsion bar splines...you name it. $5 sure goes a long way.

Pegasus Racing has the Red Line CV-2 as its product. Below is its page. The spec numbers provided 'appear' better than the 3 it compares too and the Mag1 from its page.

Any automotive wheel bearing grease will be fine. No need to over think this.

I'll just keep it simple. Pegasus carries quality non specific auto products. CV-2 it'll be for my PM front bearing work.

I typically use the Redline CV-2, or use Mobil-1 synthetic also in a tube. Either is suitable

I've heard the Nivea works wonders for dry bearings.

I keep a tub of common black moly grease handy and will use that on the bearings.

When was the last time you heard of a bearing failure that was related to improper lubrication? If there's grease present it'll be fine.

all i know is that redline grease, (red in color ) thought it was going to be good sufff, was crap. it melted and turned to water... i use just the high temp rated lithium moloybidiaum whatever, black goowieeeeee grease from pep boys or O'reily's .
