Just took a screw out of the butterfly on my spare THROTTLE BODY.

Overall length - 10mm
Thread length 6mm - 7mm
Head diameter = 6mm
Thread - 4mm 0.7 pitch
Drive - Phillips # 1
Head type - machine.

This screw appears to be made of coated brass (silver coating, brown body).

It has a 1mm cut across the end of the thread shank for splaying to hold in place.

My recollection is that the flappy screws are different but I don't have time to dismantle the spare intake to have a look ATM.

Cheers,
Myles

As far as I could see the throttle and flappy screws were the same. Oddly, the ends were treated differently. The flappy had a round divot in the end, while the throttle had a slot that was split wider.

I have found the screws relative to this size without a problem.

Any thoughts on material?
Possible choices ----
4.8 Steel Zinc Plated
4.8 Steel Black Oxide & oil
18/8 SS
18/8 SS Black Oxide

If you're trying to match the OE part it needs to be brass?

FWIW, and with that tiny chance that one will find its way all the way down to a combustion chamber, I would stick with the original brass if at all possible. That would dent a piston and flatten after a few impacts, where a steel or SS would break a piston or worse.

My 2 cents.

i'd bet you could use a flush-head rivet that would fit there.
...5/32 is almost 4mm, tapered head to fit the countersunk hole...permanent.

I never sourced them because brass was what was needed.
So steel or stainless steel?
