I painted the exhaust on my 911 about 8 years ago and still looking great. Used POR-15 degreaser followed by their metal etch then rattle can high temp engine paint in white.
Thank you, l'll give this route a try.
After wire-wheeling it for a bit tonight, it seems the paint didn't adhere to the stainless steel areas right before the muffler and the lowest portion of muffler.
The car is in nice shape, but the camera is very forgiving. Plus, someday soon (picture me praying here), after I retire and get to totally disassemble the car...she will be a much finer example. There are those days that I feel the car is not even worthy of this event, especially when I see some of the others beauties attending.
However, I'm looking forward to seeing many more fine examples at the PA event, picking up pointers and meeting some 928 lovers in person.

Brian.
Don't worry Brian. My '84 is coming with warts and all. Scratches, dings, dents, warped dash, effed up hood badge, overspray, mismatched panel paint, etc. You can park next to me
Looking forward to meeting you in person, Nate. Was following along on your restoration closely, but lost track of things here...when my job consumed my life for the last year or so.
