No supple leather option, doesn't look like it has any other special
options, etc...........the wheels must be worth about $15K then.
I'd pay maybe about $45K tops......$50K if it was loaded with rootwood, supple, and some extra leather.......

Also, with that low of miles, the current owner probably did buy it new, and may have spent $100,000. Now, 9 years later, they are selling it, and all they remember is how much they paid, not how much it is actually worth right now. They just think that they have a low miles, pristine, $100,000 car, and they think that $60,000 is quite a bargain....

How many like this one can you still get? Supply and demand will set the right price. This car once cost over $80k.
At the current price, the owner would have taken about a $2.50 depreciation per mile driven.

To answer Nicole's rhetorical question....... You have your choice of about 25-30 1995 928 GTS 5-speeds ( I have 19 of them on my web site).
I'm guessing the majority of people who bought these cars new probably didn’t finance them and don't have any where near $100k in the car. And if the do, they don’t care. The guy I bought mine from most definitely didn't finance his nor did he really care what he got for it. He just didn’t want to give it away.
Specifically regarding this car, the seller has been offered low sixties several times already and has been offered high $50k's by a couple different dealers. So, if all you'd be willing to pay is $40-50k you'll be buying a car with a lot more miles than this one or you'll get lucky like me and find someone who doesn't necessarily know or care what they have. This seller is going to hold out and get what he wants for the car. I say this not just because I have one and I'm definitely not looking to sell mine. My situation was one of those rare occasions where I got REALLY lucky buying a car. I've talked to a lot of people who were/are buying or selling these cars and low mileage expensive cars or cars with a lot of miles do take some time to sell (Autoweek ads run for 4 weeks) while cars priced under the market sell REALLY fast.
I know of another 1995 928 GTS 5-speed with 8k mi that recently sold for $68.5k. I talked to the buyer and seller.
I'd bet that a few knowledgeable 928 buyers that bought a new 1995 928 GTS paid mid sixties for their cars. Remember when Porsche was selling GTSs in 1995, they were forcing them on dealers (or at least giving them big incentives to take them) so very few were heavily optioned. To see one without at least supple leather is rare.
When it comes to 1995 928 GTS 5-speed cars, you can throw the books right out the window and Excellence has no idea they are just guessing! Fact is, low mileage 5-speed cars are REALLY rare and bringing big bucks.

Hey Chuck -
While I agree with most of what you said.......if the car you presently
own was listed for $60K or greater would you have bought it?? I think
not.......and your probably one of the more knowledgeable people on the
subject.
I guess the point I am making is.....is this car really worth that kind of money regardless of what it sells for......there IS a fool born every minute.
I have seen many pictures of the car mentioned in this thread and IMO don't think it is worth $60K and that is because I have seen many higher mileage GTS's that are in better shape, totally original, with more options and in better color combinations then this one.
I remember a couple years back looking at a sub 10k mile '94 5 speed.
Nice car, but was definitely not in the same league as my then 20K mile '90 GT, and would have cost some money to even bring it close.......dirty inside and out, dried dash with a little warpage, ........a car that sat around in storage and was rarely driven........guy wanted something in the high $50's for it.......I just laughed.......think he ended up dumping it to a dealer for
much less.......and they sold it to some fool who had to have a "low mileage" example.......no matter what it actually looked like for a good deal of money......never saw it again. Maybe some "collector" is holding on to
it somewhere.
Just because it's a low mileage '95 GTS 5 speed doesn't automatically
make it a high dollar car in my book, and if it does eventually sell, the
buyer will have to get used to letting it sit in his garage or otherwise taking
a BIG hit for depreciation if he drives it even a little. Sad for a 928, but for some people just saying they "have" one is most important.
