They're never done, exhibit L- The mechanical part of Minerva's A/C makes cold air but its distribution is a little gamey. Thre are differences in the way the early vs. late '78 vacuum hoses are configured, and Anderson was kind enough to supply a test rig so I can figure out what's what.

I cleaned everything in the mudroom sink first, so it's all good.

It still blows my mind Mark can just walk the aisles and piece together an entire '78-79 HVAC setup. The head unit appears to be late '78, based on the diaphragms. Minerva's was set up significantly differently when it got here, I think someone had been into it before.

Late '78 lower diaphragm configuration:

Already went thru all this. Took quite a few hours to reverse-engineer in similar fashion.
There is a better way to route vacuum (compared to early '78), which is outlined on my updated HVAC schematic.

Call to discuss in detail, or to at least compare notes.

Jim- I spent a long time looking at your diagrams and I don't doubt for a second they're correct, but I still have to confess I don't understand 'em. Definite mental limitation on my part. I needed to see their operation in person.

Finally got a chance to play with this test setup today, am using a $15 Karlsson Robotics 12V vacuum pump found at Amazon- pulls the Mity-Vac to ~20" in Hg. The blue line to the recirc box isn't working (diaphragm in it is good per the Mity-Vac) so something's wrong inside this particular HVAC head, but the other vacuum pod positions vs. slider position are instructive.

His wife's patients are far more demanding than Rob's.....so I believe He is the primary domestic engineer and caregiver. Which means it is HIS kitchen And yes no doubt she does love him very much. It is the cat which watches him most of the time that thinks he is crazy.

Just turned 170k on the odometer over the Christmas break. Rang in 2018 with a morning drive with 30 or so enthusiasts of many marques. A joy to drive!

Default Door lock question

William/Rob -

Beautiful job! I am currently in the midst of an interior/exterior refresh on ‘ol copper. It is an 83 s model.

do you guys know the correct finish for the little ring around the door key slot? On my car it looks like it was originally a flat black, but mine are pretty worn. I may leave them alone as I understand they are tough to disassemble and mine work fine.

just curious as to what you did on Minerva.

thanks

-scott
