Bob- Thanks for the info on the power cord- I found a pic of one that matches your description, so I know what to look for.

Minerva content: Primed and painted.

Soooooo, the tips of the tailpipe stay exhaust pipe color/not painted. This was kind of my question, before in my topic, but folks started mentioning the tips/covers being painted black...and I never really got the answer I was looking for.

Are you painting the tailpipe ends with an aluminum colored exhaust paint or are they staying naked?

I'd be interested in seeing a picture of the exhaust pipe leading to the muffler flange, when you start putting things together. Muffler looks great, someday...I'll be doing the same to another project muffler for old red.

Thank you,

Brian.

This particular muffler is an '80-82 muffler, it was originally black all over, except for the distal half of each tip. We just replicated that.

Minerva original on the left, with 'scalloped' black covers, 80-82 muffler on the right, tips removed showing bare metal:

The covers on the original steel muffler tips are corrosion welded onto the tips, we figured it would be better to leave the tips bare where the covers sit, since they're stainless anyway.

We managed to get one cover off the original muffler, the other was from Anderson.

Test fitment, last night. Need to swap out for the original hardware, which cleaned up reasonably well.

EDIT: Pic of rear of intermediate pipe in situ:

Thank you, Rob! That last picture tells the whole story about mounting.

The car is looking totally awesome, you and William should be very proud.

Default who wouldn't be smiling!f

it is tantalizing to be so close to a completed project, and most exciting (and pressure packed) to present it at the Concour on the Avenue. As Brian was saying in his thread, the small details do take as much or more time than the big items.

My great view!...

2- What does the cigarette lighter plug look like? Black with vertical ribs? Just curious, as the one I got is missing the power plug.
Rob - here you go. Also, I made detailed measure of the original cardboard box. Mine is not white, but plain cardboard, and getting fragile. I'll follow up with that later.
