Barry,
I will be around for a long time. I feel so much better, and cannot express how much less stress I have in my life.
I just may start a 928 gathering up here in the wild west.
Sharks in the Badlands......

Full AutoCheck report (used by eBay, Kelly Blue Book, etc.):
Keep in mind, whereas accidents have to be reported by law -mileage does not.
Other documentation in the maintenance folder shows the progression through the last 10 years...

The vast majority of 928s sold in the US were not ordered cars. But I agree this one probably was....since no dealer would order such an unpopular color....remember in 1991 PCNA had so many unsold 928s they did not bring in any 1992 GTS. 928s were never an easy sale.....let alone a pink one...

A couple weeks ago you said you had an offer over $10k and were arranging a PPI with a noted local 928 expert. Bid was from a long time Porsche owner with current fleet of 951, 986, 987 and 930 under restoration.
Can you share the results of the PPI?
Is this offer of over 10K still valid and will a potential new buyer need to consider that in any new offer?
Thanks

Actually, it was last Monday.
I recommended the PPI to the bidder in Florida and the earliest the Porsche dealership here could do it was the end of this week -for $250- if I wanted to schedule it.
The master mechanic to do the PPI has been wrenching on 928's since they were new... Jim Burton.
Well, the bidder didn't want to wait -and pay $250, so he asked the 911 shop doing his slantnose 911 restoration about the issues.
In typical non-928 informed fashion they rattled of some worst-case scenarios -even IMB (TBF?)- and mentioned a 'check engine' light on the console would light up if something was wrong.
Calling the Central Indicator light a 'check engine' light and 'possible IMB issue' told me they were clearly out-of-sync with a 928
-and I then insisted that if he were serious about the offer to get the PPI with Jim.
The 911 shop did what most 911 aficionados do regarding 928's -they still treat them as bastard children and warned him away from his 'quick flip' purchase.
That is why I started this thread at the end of last week.
It is being offered to 928 owners that know 928's... not 911 owners & not flippers.
But if that's what you want to do with it after you buy it -that's your call.
And, if you want to pay for a PPI as a serious buyer -then that becomes YOUR PROPERTY to disclose (or not), as you wish.
If I can convince the seller that a PPI is the way to go and HE pays for it, then it will be disclosed for all those that want it for free.
So, m750rider -were you asking out of sincere interest in the car, or just bored?

Please keep your negative 'guesswork' to your own thread... nothing 'polite' about your words.
Wanna bitch-n-moan? PM me all you like.
Issues are being addressed and fixed -so you won't see this car below $10k again. Ever.
Sorry for your loss... move on.

You were never polite in your own thread... so I jumped in to defend the car and the seller -and my photos and testimony of myself and another RennLister that knows 928's -proves you wrong.
You've moved on? Prove it by having that be your last post in this thread.
Buh bye.

I meant I have moved on from buying this car.
I was not being rude in my own thread , I was simply telling the facts about what happened when I went to pick the car up.
This car may be a rare gem but that does not change the fact that it was misrepresented in the eBay ad(as it still is on Craigslist) and I was outright lies to by the seller when he told me the odometer had stopped that day.
He also either lied to me or you about when it went into storage because you claim he said it was put into storage when his daughter moved to DC but he talked to me about he driving it in DC.
If this is such a gem, fix the idle problem and make a killing on it Genius.

Guess you have not been reading the thread (like not reading the New Owner FAQ thread about 928 particulars)... idle issue is being fixed.
So, if you've moved on from the car -why still comment on it? Your input as a former wannabe buyer that couldn't get the car for a song -is not needed here.
The 'issues' as you put them in your thread (filthy interior, broken fog light, etc.) are not the equivalent of 'facts'... merely ways of attempting to low-ball the seller.
You want a brand new 27 year-old car? Go talk to Michael Wilhoit -he'll hook you up with one.
