1978 928 follows me home today.
She's in pretty nice shape and will be my garage queen/ultimate project.
Here is my 84, newer "old blacky", along side new-to-me but older "old red" (boy, this is getting a bit confusing...guess I'm going too have to call "old blacky"..."young blacky" now...lol).
Along with her, came another 1978 (not pictured). However, it will become a dismantle/parts car. It's a non-sunroof car, five speed also. I'll probably keep the trans and new clutch (that it supposedly has) and sell the rest.
Old red will get a proper bath, vacuuming and waxing tomorrow. Then on jack stands for further inspection.
Brian.

Awesome looking OB!
If you don't mind me asking, what did it take to convince the seller to sign it over?

Actually went to look at the other 78, the one that was to far gone and will be turned into a parts car, but changed gears and acquired the red 78 when he mentioned he had it in the garage. Actually, my wife was talking to him when he mentioned having another one...I was getting ready to leave without buying anything...boy was she kicking herself in the butt all the way home for that mistake. Especially, once she found out my "grand master plan" of buying them both...lol.
I need the original exhaust from the parts car, and will keep the five speed and new clutch assembly. Then the rest goes. Body is in decent shape, well besides one small ding...which happen as we found out the brakes didn't work and as it fell off the ramps of the trailer and rolled into the garage wall.

Congratulations! Great find and all shiny for a '78. Much better than the one I just acquired. It will probably take me more than a year to get halfway to what your car looks like. I am sure you will give it "The Deputy" treatment, right?
BTW, let me know when you are parting it out, since I will be needing some parts for my '78 5-speed!

Wow - great find! Looks like some really nice ones starting to come out of the woodwork now. That is an excellent looking example. What's the engine bay look like?

Ed,
Not bad, needs some tender loving care though.
There were no additional air intake tubes with parts car. What I thought was the extra pair was the ones for "red".
Thank you everyone for the nice comments. Gave her a bath today and ran out of steam. It is amazing how much easier it is to clean and wipe down red than black. Got rid of those H4 headlights, too. Oh, and I did make my first official repair...battery going dead after two weeks, PO told me about it, glove box light was staying on...all fixed.

nice; and it has the nla original air intake tubes - they are gold - can be brittle, so treat with great care.
