AC was working, but leaked out. I recharged it for the trip to SITM, and leak checked....a crack on the body of the expansion valve....will replace later...put some El cheapo seat covers, washed her up, and packed it for the 2 hour journey up the mountain....I’m quite nervous...she hasn’t driven more than 30 miles since 2000....

Ron,
Congratulations!!! I remember the first time I ever drove a 928 to a GTG, I was kind of embarrassed to park it between all these great looking cars. Then we went on a drive, and since it needed shocks and tie rods and a thousand other things, it drove like a 56 Chevy pickup with the steering wheel just sort of guiding it, but it held the road just like those great looking 928s and after about 15 minutes of hair-raising high speed curves(since I hadn't ever driven it this way before), I got comfortable with it and had a great time.

I came home from that trip with a smile on my face that lasted a week and told anybody that would listen that it was the most fun I have had with my clothes on. YMMV

Being able to drive your car makes up for the difficult times it can give you. Congratulations again!!

Thanks Seth...

Shawn...Frenzy is on the radar.....not sure yet, but I’m trying to figure out how to make it happen....

its a 20 footer at best....but hey, how many people get much closer than that? Lol....needs a full strip and respray, as well as front seats recovered, and dash, and pod....could use new carpet, but I don’t sit on that....so....

runs hot in traffic with AC on, AC expansion valve leaking (got new one in hand), and steering rack leaks a little, until I raise her off the suspension, then it leaks a lot....I guess I will just try to limit lifting her up for now...lol.

still lots to fix, but nothing keeping her grounded ATM

True story:
When I first got my 944, I took a friend and her two sons (10 & 12) for a ride. The boys were thrilled. The older one commented that his friend was telling everyone that he got to sit in a Rolls, but now he (the older son) was getting an actual ride in a Porsche.
I noted that it was a long way from perfect, and noted some of the flaws (paint mainly).
Some kids are smarter than us 'adults'. This 12 year old noted that most people aren't going to notice the flaws. They won't have time or be close enough. They are going to see a Porsche driving down the road.

He had an excellent point.
