It is looking really good to me. Going out of town for a couple days. Will test assemble it all on the bench when I get back and take a couple more pics.

Thanks Crump. Started futzing around again last weekend. Went into my basement for the first time all summer and the cobwebs had taken over! Started the double din kit then, putting a few coats of paint each night and then letting it all dry until I could touch it again. Worked 1/2 day yesterday, and then started the assembly. After family all left from gorging themselves on my fried turkey, I was going to assemble it all, but decided my console looked like ***, so I gave her a good scrubbing, and am starting with leather wipes. When I get back home, Sunday, I will treat it with leather creame, and take some more pics. Hopefully I will have time to assemble it all.

Turkey pic attached! It was fantastic, and very juicy. I have been frying them for about 6 years now, and I think this was my best one yet. The burn looking parts are the skin where my wife put a rub on the bird ( you are supposed to rub it under the skin, but she said it was too gross...go figure)

Just got home and couldn't stand it, got my hands on some mink oil, and coated it. Looks 100% better. A couple more coats and it will be time to start putting this thing together.

Well, 90% complete. I have some HVAC and electrical work to do in the car, and then I can begin the final assembly.

Here are some mock ups....it is assembled, but not secured to the console yet...my double din cage is a universal, and does not fit my radio as well as I would like, and I need a radio trim ring...may have to make one....

Lol...welll, I guess I can let the cat out of the bag....I have been busy with another German project....long story short.....in an attempt to reduce some debt, sold my truck in June, in July, sold the wife's highlander. Used the profit from her car and bought a VERY nice used Lexus RX350...was able to go from $630 /mo. To $98.00 /mo. ...loved it. Made the first payment, in august, and the very next day, we were rear ended...not pretty. The lovely Lexus was totaled. Myself, my wife, and 1 of my girls were injured...thankfully nothing major, but still fighting the insurance. As far as the car, we settled, but did not fare very well. So now we found ourselves with a few grand in our pocket, but a car short in the household.

I bought a running not so well 2007 Audi Q7, v8...lots of mechanical and electrical problems, but ultra cheap, and excellent body and interior, 1 owner and a doctor at that. That has occupied my very limited off time...the wife has been driving my ultra high mileage suburban while I work on this beast. It runs great, but is throwing an emissions code, and needs brakes....it is a rocket...I kinda want it for myself....
