Official 1982 "Great White" revival thread!

Just to update, have done nothing of relevance to the 82 since the last post, except drive her to Frenzy, which went off without a hitch. I like the stereo, but just not loving it. Neat features and all, but when it boils down to it, I want better sound than the Chinese radio provides. I got my hands on a smashed Alpine ILX-207, on the cheap. Ordered the parts and repaired it. Works fantastic on the bench. I will install it sometime this Spring.
I have been focusing most of my attention on the 79 Euro. I would like to get it on the road before SITM in June, but if I do it would be a small miracle. Once the euro is drivable, my plans are to put this car back into the shop and replace the 85mph speedo with a 160, repair the voltmeter and Economy gauges, rebuild the dash and pod, replace the stereo (again) and drop the oil pan for gasket replacement....and 100 other little things...or perhaps sell her and use the money to get the euro painted , I dunno...she is way fun driving still, lol....

What!? Harvey! You gonna be at SITM??? No way!
well, my Ansa muffler rotted off…
so I went with a magnaflow resonator and an RMB
the hanger was curled over and re-tacked, we left the pipe a little long, and I will cut it back when I find the right tip.
it sounds awesome! No drone and not loud while driving, but sounds mean under throttle. Quite happy!

If I had known that the RMB would have sounded this awesome, I would have done it a few years ago!
on to more pressing issues….had the front end aligned (2) weeks ago, drove home with the AC pumpin….
noticed the ac would not come on today, taking her to the muffler place…got it home and it had no refrigerant….added some, and found the pressure switch had blown out at the terminals! Dammit!
this is one part I don’t have on the shelf…hope Napa has a universal one…I’ll find out in the morning. Ordered an OEM one which will be here Thursday, just in case. Would really like AC for SITM next weekend, considering my drivers window stopped working.

Got the ac switch replaced. Napa failed me on a “next day” order. Autozone hooked me up with a same day order for $11! Winner winner chicken dinner! Got her evacuated and charged up!
so now I have to pick up the Napa one, that came in Tuesday, and I will still have the one coming Thursday. So (2) spares now will go on the shelf.
I also ordered some exhaust tips to try out. Want to get one installed on the car before SITM. Would look goofy with a single “raw” pipe sticking out!

Glad to hear it! Chatted a bit with Jack last night. Mexican for the win!
got the exhaust tip on the 82. Looks good, sounds great.
Bad thing…AC dead again…she has sprung another leak…figures, the night before SITM….

Thread update! Found the leak, on my AC extension hose that I installed to easily charge it up. Replaced and recharged again. AC was good to go for SITM.
SITM was a blast this year. Lots of folks made it out. A few cars got sick, but Seth and the others jumped in and got things sorted. We only had (1) casualty on the fun run, but it was revived with a relay.
