I am currently unemployed, so while waiting for some reply’s to the resume I threw out there, couldn’t think of a better thing to do but get the 82 ready for frenzy.

started by rebuilding the old struts I pulled off her last year....the shocks were shot, and all the rubber parts had turned to goo.

Old strut coming apart

New bump stop vs old...

Here is a nice pic of my ceiling with me lying flat on my back, as I was carrying a box of tools (about 40#) from my basement to the shop, I slipped on the concrete and lost it. Hit the concrete full force with ***, back, and head. I laid there for about 15 mins, then decided to get my wife to come out and get all the tools off me and help me up. **** that hurt!

Not to be defeated, I drained the oil, removed the oil filter, and replaced the alternator. Patching some dodgy wiring and moving the pulley and fan over to the new one...:dang I’m sore....

Not willing to leave well enough alone, I removed the front wheels and got her ready for tomorrow’s project...change out of the struts. Going to take a lot of Advil now, and maybe go to bed.....

Be careful! Hope you are employed soon. Where did you get the bump stops? Link?

Like the Energizer bunny, Ron, keep it going!
And brother ghastowers weighing in, too, another epic save guy!

Ron, you mentioned rusty seat above. That black set I passed to you from 86.5 car should be very solid, no issues other than a small amount of stitching. Please tell me you are referring to a different reclaimed set!

Roger has them for something like $20 each. Fronts & backs are different.

Thanks Harvey. Still sore and beat up, but moving on!

Gunner, I got the bump stops and shocks on eBay. I prefer to get most parts from Roger or Mark, but got a really good deal online...and free shipping. The cost of the bump stops was about the same as Rogers.

Chris, the seats I got from you are pristine, soaked in leather conditioner, and bagged. They go in #30. The seats I put in this car are tan.

In my efforts to get this car ready for Frenzy, one thing was driving me nutz! My crappy stereo. If you have followed, I had a nice double din Android stereo with Nav, straight from China! It worked great, and I was quite happy with it...until I removed it to repair some speaker wires and found that it was actually too deep, breaking my vacuum pod for the center flap. After replacing the vacuum pod, I found an el cheapo media player with similar features on eBay for $25. I also found out why it was so cheap....piece of crap. Loved the features, but it freezes, blanks out, backup camera quit, etc. I carry a small cake poker to constantly reset it. After over a year of dealing with it, I finally pulled it out and installed a new Android media player. (I bought it last September) A much higher end unit, with Android 9 OS, built in Nav, DAB+, and 2gb+32gb of memory. I went ahead and added wireless TPMS...and my back up camera is working again!

Just got it working today, and I am quite happy with it so far. I had to order some material to trim it out, but...I like...

Good job Ron. That new double din looks awesome. Sorry to hear about the fall and the job.
Keep your head up and let me know if you need anything.
