hey Lou, you need to come by and take a look...the interior is a mess....especially since the console is out. Wires and vacuum lines everywhere! Once I get these brakes sorted and bleed this system, I can focus on putting the inside back together so I can give her a road test.

moved on to the rear, and when I tried to loosen the hard line from the rubber hose, I discovered that the PO had used RED Locktite on the fittings. This needs heat to loosen. Crap. Not looking forward to this.....

Thanks buddy!

Was as unable to remove right rear rubber brake line. The flare fitting is rounded. Heat w torch did not help, so she gets 3 new lines, 1 old one remains.

reverse bled the clutch line and brake lines, reinstalled the wheels, and put on the air box. Let her run for about 30 min.
Headlights, tail lights, reverse lights, and turn signals work. Brake lights and pod lights do not.
Tested the gear throw and clutch engagement, then put her to sleep for tonight. Hope to start working on the interior wiring this weekend before I have to travel for work next week.

Slow progress day. Had to do some deferred lawn maintenance.

Took out the license plate lights, housings, found one rusted to nothing, refurbed the other. Cut out the opening to add a new license light and camera combo.

Retimed the motor. Still running strong.

Started working on the sub mount / housing ( I know the stereo is usually not that important, but lots of wiring to be done, a lot easier without seat or console in place)

Main board, goes over spare tire / battery box. Sub/Amp/Circuit breaker mounts on underside

Holding sub under to check the look

Even though it will be under carpet, still want it pretty....

The goal for 1st stage of this resto is to have this car safe, mechanically sorted, and able to pass a state inspection. Wipers were rusted and not functioning. Rear assembly was gone and the wiper arm mount was rusted out and stripped.(good to have a parts car)

Replacement rear wiper “transmission” courtesy of the 84 parts car.

Front arms restored, new blades

Restored rear wiper assembly (courtesy of parts car). I know most folks delete the rear wiper....I like the look.

Removed the rear seats, as they were rotted...decided to do a delete, as this is my “toy” car...

Well, a bit nasty under the rotted out seats...

THIS IS NOT MInE!!! But this is what I am shooting for. (Not the color) I already have the bins. Going to mount speakers where the sub and amp are.

Thanks fellers. I hope to get her to SITM. We will see. Progress is slow, mainly to my ADD. Can’t focus on one task.

1st draft, thanks to my father in law for doing this. Not enough slant for my liking on the vertical. Too much surface area on the top. We will work on it
1st draft mock up
