Frame strength/rollcage placement
The 78 body that is 13 years in the making is now near the front burner, (after getting the low mile car sold - which will be this summer). It's this one:

Where can I put a slight cage safely that will strengthen the car frame?

Out the cage?
Or..get one..
If get one, find your local'ish SCCA/NASA/WCMA _knowledgable_ fabricator.
Anything not meeting at LEAST those specs required by those groups, can physically hurt you more than help you. Proper placement, pads, and welding are the keys.
No such thing as a cage that isnt race legal and ready, that's worth any amount of $.

Not one that bolts to the stinking floor!
We've been "saving" that car with the front clip cut off to do a pattern of a "real" roll bar. Grant will do that right after he finishes the 911 cage he is working on, right now.

I felt there was some opportunity to strengthen the car's structure with some properly placed tubes, and them put the interior in around it. There was a guy on the race forum that used to post pics of really good cages.
