Car won't stay running. Dead LH? Help!
Hi all. Car has been driving well since she came out of paint (about 300 miles or so). Drove the car all day today. Made a two hour stop. Then, while driving home tonight, the car just died mid acceleration. All the idiot lights stayed on.
So... car will turn over, chug at idle for a few seconds, then stall. When I turn the key to the off position, the cooling fans stay running.
My recollection was that this might indicate a bad LH. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Brian

to stop the fans remove one wire from the top of the intake manifold sensor,
the sensor has failed.
Check the fuel pump fuse and the ground and battery connections first.
aftet this and no change in running condition swap out the 3 running relays one at a time.
If no change then suspect a failed fuel pump

Stan FYI this is a MURF SC car and the Fans have been wired to run as soon as the key is on, else you would be correct.
Brian's had a history of "Hot" start issues in the past, however when you get to actually look at it, it cools off enough to start
Andrew and I were talking about this last night, AO's has spare CPU's but needs to get them back from another local, then install Brian's Custom Chip's in them and let him run w/ them and see if this reoccurs, also going to look at usual Fuses/relays and may even pull the CE and do a good cleaning.
Any other suggestions would greatly be appreciated, we are hoping that the old issue is finally becoming a hard failure.

im voting for fuel pump.. especialy because of the restart , "chugging for a second or two".. shows you have some spark and trying to start with remaining fuel in lines.
jumper the fuel pump relay and try and start .

So I checked ignition, fuel pump and LH relays. All are working properly. Replaced LH and EZK with known working units. No change. Jumpered the fuel relay- no clicking. Fuel pump it is! D'oh!

there is definitely an electrical issue going on so before i replace the fuel pump (my in line fuel gauge says 40 psi ), i wanted to report one more thing that is happening.
turn the key to the on position and all the electrics seem to be running.
hvac is blowing full blast with everything being in full off position.
suggestions?

I had the same issue with no start. Finally put gauges on the fuel line and had the requisite pressure, meaning fuel pump stopped when pressured up. After changing relays and all the other easy stuff, that left the LH. I got a loner from Garrity and things ran. So ended up replacing with a bullet-proof Speake unit. BTW, fuel pump crapped out a year later.
