Wheel Dynamics

Well guys the time is getting closer and we will be introducing the new 18" wheels which we will offer in the following:

18x8 (et. 45) & 18x10 (et. 55)

These wheels will be test fitted on the 928 before being sold.....

These wheels are Rotary Spun in order to be a lighter, stronger and more valuable wheel for the Porsche.

These are designed to work with your factory hardware kits & center caps.

Estimated price: $400-425 ea. wheel, we may offer a discount for pre-order or photo exchanges for the first few orders on Rennlist.

Actual wheel weight is not confirmed yet.

What are your thoughts?

Yes, they need to be at least ET 55, and preferably closer to ET65 in front.

I always blanch when there is a bunch of ins and outs that catch brake dust. A smooth spoke-to-drum is relationship is best.

Kind of like the sport classic 2's. Brake dust traps, but beautiful when clean.

you should make a 9.5 front with 8" back spacing and 11" rear with 8" back spacing. (or 9 and 10) thats what works on a 928. they would look pretty nice with that wheel pattern.

You keep posting with excitement new 928 wheels but all it appears you are doing is picking from your 911 inventory wheels that are "close" to fitting. Show us some front wheels with 65 to 72et and maybe we'll share your excitement.

We will bring them in and do some test fitting. Unfortunately the majority of the cross application falls into a lower off-set.

When we spoke you stated you would be producing these with at least a 50 offset for the front, these have the same terrible ET45 as the previous wheels??

Wheel design limits our ability to simply adjust the off-sets, it would have to be a good 1" less on the design to make it worth doing...

Take care now, just not the right match this time.

We're aware of this issue - its why there are so few decent wheel choices for the 928. It comes down to a few factory wheels which are close, or 3-pieces which can be assembled to the correct offset.

ET55 is the minimum for later 928's, ET50 for 78-86 models. Stock 928 offsets were ET65 on front for all model years, with the smallest negative offset sold on the 928 being ET60 fronts in 88/89.

Unfortunately, the wheel after-market (and idiot consumers) have pushed the sizes of rims to where they're not practical for the 928.

18" is the biggest we can reasonably run and still have enough rubber around the wheel, so the new 991 doesn't have any wheels we can use.
