Hi Shawn,
Welcome back to the asylum, we missed you!
Hope all is well with you and the family.
Fingers crossed to see the new Shark at SITM next year!
BTW, same color combo and year as my very first 928, cool!
Cheers,
Dave

Congrats! I went and drove that car about a year ago (I aired up the tires for ya)...you're correct in that it has a lot of potential! With a little TLC you'll have a great ride. The lady that was selling it was the daughter of the original owner. She said it had pretty regular maintenance until the early 90s then sat. Throw a tb/wp on it and enjoy!

DAVE!!! Good to hear from you and nice to be back. It's like getting the band band together! I'm good for the bass guitar or drums but I've honed my cowbell skills too, your choice.
Jeremy - I'd love to contact the lady who had it before. Do you have her contact info?

I though I'd give an update with pics. Like I indicated before, the car seemed to be down 100 hp when I first picked it up. It was particularly weak from 1500 to 3000 rpms. I had the MAF rebuilt, installed Greg Browns new injectors with his machined adaptors, rolled the rear fenders and added bilsteins in order to make room and stiften the rear end up for the 996 turbo twists, replaced the plugs, caps rotors, and then most recently added John Speake's euro chips. John confirmed that both the LH and EZF were not original. Once I got the chips installed, he confirmed via the numbers on them that they were meant for and 86.5. Car runs great now. The PO really loved this car which is evident by the repaint, recovered seats, pod, dash, and rear quarters. It also appears to have a perfect chin spoiler - must have been replaced. The PO also added a Borla Cat Back system. I put a new alpine in it with Bluetooth (no pun intended - although that would be a great nickname for this car). Santa also kicked in some black Lloyd mats with blue lettering which accents the blue well in my opinion. Now I just have to address the pan gasket and some cam seals.

What of the leaky leaks? Is it the front main? Gotta do that when you do the TB/WP job. Cam cover seals are a pain in the heine. Loosen the motor mount bolts so you can shift the engine up on each side to get the cam covers off. Glue the cam followers back in the housing with grease when you assemble. Make sure you get all the old gasket off the head flange too. Goopy job, Curry can attest.
