Panorama magazine
I just read my first issue of Panorama just now. Other than one entry in a group shot picture and a small for sale section, it is like 928s don't exist. Is this true of all issues and does it apply to the PCA in general?

The first or 2nd letter has an interesting take on "real Porsches" and favorable mention of the 928.
Wish I could tell you that there's a lot of 928 content but there isn't. I still like Panorama though. YMMV

Don't get me started, and don't hold your breath. Lol.
I'm PCA and I even contacted the editor once.
He did respond favorably, but I still haven't seen him make good on it, and that was at least a year ago....

As per post number four:
Then if you decreased horsepower to seventy, made it handle like a crate of oranges, called it a speedster and put a handle in the middle of the hood -- you would get a full feature every month.

A friend of mine here has a turbo Cayman, so I've gone with him to a couple local PCA car shows...haven't seen a 928 yet. To be honest, that's part of the charm for me. If/when I show up to an event like that, it'll be like the disreputable cousin showing up to the snobby family gathering lol.
I love my 928 but it's not in perfect condition by any means. I would expect that people would be reasonable enough not to make me feel like my car is the redheaded step child of the Porsche Family... with band aids on it.

Nothing but favorable experiences with PCA and the 928.
As Always --- If you want to see more coverage of the 928 in Pano or Excellence or whatever, write and submit your articles for publication. The club mags select what they publish from what they receive from members. Them would be us. There are lots of articles on the various other models because various other members write about them. There's a connection.

We get fantastic respect here in our region (ARPCA). As do 944s, 914s, 986/7, etc. We call ourselves a drinking club that has a car problem
It really is about the people and what you want to do to promote your car/model (my car took 2d place in a recent People's Choice judging at a recent ARPCA event ). Pablo D writes the Flussing online magazine, and his articles on water-cooled front engine vintage Porsches routinely get published in the PCA online feeds.Pano is bad for coverage, but I suspect it is beacuse of us owners not providing sufficient content. The car needs to be special too, altho I know there are many special sharks out there.
You guys are right, in that we need to be part of the solution and not the problem in regards to submission of material.
Yet, I can think of at least one of our peers that has a feature piece car who was approached by the magazine -- and has yet to be featured.

Don't forget the part about losing 1,800 pounds.
As for handling, it's not a 928 but they did motor around outside the Jags and Ferraris on the corners of old. Not too shabby for an orange crate.

And they're a LOT of fun once you learn to use trailing throttle oversteer.
