Also Roger, have you inspected the wiring harness? It could be shorting and cause the injectors to act weird.
That's why I made them.

I have the same issues, in my shop, that you guys have at home.

It's one thing to buy a set of injectors for a USA car at over $200 each, but unless Roger gets really lucky, he is not going to find a Euro injector.

I'll post pictures in a product introduction.

Greg's adaptor design is great - we have discussed them off list. I want a set for myself !!

Roger, a short between the two wires going to any injector can damage the LH ECU (like your was) but the short will ensure the injector is always closed. The only fault that will keep the injectors switched on and flowing is a short from the connection on the injectors that go to pin 13 of the LH ECU being shorted to ground.

Glad you chimed in about that. I hadn't looked yet to see what would cause them to stay open so thank you.

We are going to pull the injection harness and I'm going to build a new one for him. Should take care of a number of issues I see on it.

Disconnected the LH and they stopped.

When I originally sent the LH for John Speake to rebuild he did say that there could be a short in my injector harness - it looks like that maybe the case.

Sean has a great video of the gas being pumped out of the engine.

Still $11k from a $3k car.
While possible, tough to believe you would have 8 stuck open injectors....especially since you obviously had it running and they were working.

Sounds like you have one (or more) injector grounds that normally are triggered by the computer, touching an engine or chassis ground.

After seeing the vid, I doubt you are going to be able to boil that much fuel that's leaked down into the crankcase. Drain the oil now, and leave the drain plug out, and leave the cam cover vents open so that some of the fuel will evap out of the crankcase. Put in new oil just before you are ready to start it again.

<edit; If you have some kind of forced air fan you can get flowing into the crankcase, that would help a bunch. >

And keep a good fire extinguisher handy, that's a scary video, but cool too.

14mm is odd isn't it? Isn't the S3 US 17? Unfortunate, I though I had some leads for you.

That filled up quite a few cylinders. I'm not sure if that would be the injectors I would expect one to go bad. Maybe the fuel pressure regulator?

I don't care if you apply 200PSI to the injector, as long as the solenoid doesn't pick and move the core off the seat, they ain't going to spray. Either they all stuck open at the same time, or there's a short to ground on the harness and they all got picked and the pump was running.

That's not correct, injectors will leak if there's too much pressure ... even good ones. Certainly grounding can be an issue, but putting a fuel pressure gauge on the rail is not a bad idea.

Roger,
I have an extra set of 8 Euro injectors. Obviously, if you need them, let me know.

I've tested multiple types of 928 injectors to 150psi and never a leak from a "good" one.

Before I was able to SharkTune my Murf928 Supercharged 81, my fuel pressure was 120+ at full boost.

I fitted new regulators and pressure damper that morning prior to the hydro lock situation.

Give me the injectors and i'll test them Roger, at least this way you'll be able to tell if your injectors are the problem or if it's the electrics in the car.

I'd still put a fuel pressure gauge on it though for good measure.

Can't just a noid light show if the injectors are getting a signal to stay open?
