Noid light was good on them all.
They were all open at the same time spraying fuel into the cylinders when the fuel pump relay was jumped.
LH, EZF and fuel pump relays were removed at that point.
Once we disconnected the EZF brain they stopped.

Does the 928 pulse ground to fire injectors? I had a nightmare issue on a V12 jaguar a while back when the injectors would stick open. Noid light showed that the injectors were signal was pulsing correctly. It took a while to figure out and ended up finding out that the injectors were messed up internally and grounding on the block.

To test, measure resistance between the pins and the body (mentioned earlier) and see if there's a short. If so, you "may" be able to fix the problem by painting the injectors, or throw them in the dustbin.

Found it very odd also and when I rescued Rog from the country roads, the NOID showed a definitive pulse. When I went over on Sunday morning I was floored at what I was seeing. Key off, FP jumpered and the cylinders were just filling up. Very odd.

Maybe we should pull the injectors and do an outside test. I'm green with envy on your test rig, mine is straight out of the flinstone age.

It's pretty neat. If you figure out my running issue, I'll let you play with it .

That sounds dirty.

I pulled your MAF tonight and tested it, reading 993ohm instead of the usual 300 or so. This is what happens when I don't sleep, I keep working. The belt job is done so in the morning I'll fire it up and play around with the running.

Rogers MAF, when we pulled it out this weekend, wouldn't even get a reading. He's got a new one now

I've got a new one here to test with and will know more in the morning. I'll give you a break for the cores if you want to get rid of the other one if this is the issue. I've bought plenty of them that supposed to be good, only to find out they were crap but good cores.

Not to highjack Rogers thread, but one of your coils was full of green crap. What's that stuff that Stan always says we should use on electrics?

If the MAF failed in thermal runaway mode (not uncommon) then the injectors would be tuned full on.... when engine was running.

Hi John,
MAF was fire damaged and has now been fixed.

"thermal runaway mode" so could this have been the reason why the car flooded? However the cylinders were filling up with the car not running.

This picture is showing how full the air guide was before the video. A LOT of gas.

Holy cow! It would be a very fortunate thing if the engine is OK.

Hmm, I wonder if the LH ECU had failed in some way so it was grounding the injector trigger line ?

Sean, Roger,

For giggles, open up both of the engine computers and check the eproms closely. First check to see if they are non-stock, secondly check for a cracked and/or broken pin...or bad solder joint on the eprom socket(doubtful).

Sorry it has been so long that my failing memory can't remember exactly which pin to check, but one specific bent/broken/cracked pin will do this exact scenario you have experienced.

Don't ask me how I know this, but I do have the T-shirt.

Cheers,

Dave

Dave - great to see you posting

We will check over the weekend. I have two sets of brains of which three were either supplied by or rebuilt by John.
