Default 928 CS Revisited

Hi there,

Some months ago I presented my new adquistion, this red car that I believed was a 928 GT but actually it is a kind of CS (by motor/gearbox type) or prototype. Car was in pretty good condition taking into account his age, but it was necessary some urgent interventions in mechanical parts and interior. Moreover, I wanted to recover his original aspect and I changed the 18" wheels to his stock 16"

Once opened the engine, engine supports were changed due to vibrations, lambda and ignition sensors, all airfilter assembly, steering mechanism, timing and of course sparks, gearbox and engine oil, multiple gaskets, brake fluid, oil, air and gas filters, battery, A/A, and also cilynder head were sanded and polished. In the interior, leather and upholstery were restored, control panel lighting and a lot of small parts.

And finally, and intensive three days detailing, you can see the results...

Yes, someone told me when I posted first engine pic, but I have been unable to find out the part, I'm afraid I'll have to ask for directly to Porsche

Beautiful car.
Congrats and keep up the good work.
If it is a CS, you should put the decal on the driver's fender.

How it likely went down in Stuttgart:

"Hans! Hans! Komen heir."
"Yah, vat es los Franz?"
"Dese rot car, been sit for zwei tags. Auf gehen jetz."
"Yah, aber ve got no S4 auto from das dumkopfs at Benz."
"So? est innin de vey heir. Toss un trans in und lets go, vait too long, jetz."
"Ah-so. Heir ist eine manual?"
"Ser-gut, shippen-sie! Heute!"

Well, this car is not a CS, and not a 1989 GT also.

I would define it as a GT prototype. It is a regular manual 1989 s4 with a CS engine (m28/41 SP), transaxle, gearbox (G28/55), ECU's, exhaust, gear lever, fenders and rims. I would be curious to know what kind of suspension is on it.

By the way, it shares the exact same equipment list as the famous 1988 GTE.

All in all, I'm very happy to know this car is known yet and in very good condition. Just a small amount of work to do and it will be perfect.

That's it, exactly what Samuel says. Next week in September, I will go to Porsche dealer to ask for a Certicate of Autenticity, I'm curious about how they name my car :-)
