Bonneville 2014
Day 3 at Bonneville. Still waiting for the sun to dry it up enough that we can get out on the salt to set up. They say we hope to be racing Monday. Many have left already. We will stay till Wednesday night to give ourselves every opportunity to make a run, the we gotta go. We built it and we brought it here, thats all we can do. Now we wait.
I am posting updates and a few photos on our 928motorsports Facebook page.

The event has been cancelled. The salt is just not drying fast enough. The inspectors were going around and teching race cars in their trailers annd the parking lots since yesterday. We had been given our tech forms and told to pull the car out of the trailer about 30 minutes prior to the decision to cancel the event.

Plans for returning are uncertain right now. Dave and Garrity both offered to park my truck and trailer at their place so i could just fly back out for World of Speed Sept 30 to Oct 4.
If Connie wasnt having spinal surgery in mid-Sept that is just what i would have done.
My plan (at the moment) is to get her through surgery and rehab and return to road racing in the tri-state area.
My crew wants me to save the Bonneville parts, and put em back on the car in a year or two once Connie is more stable and i can travel.more easilly.
Im starting on a 7.0L race motor to replace this 6.5L, and Im thinking that it might do nicely at Bonneville in front of a ZO6 T56 with overdrive. ..

My well bashed 928MS bash plates and I were looking forward to reading of your escapades. I understand this sort of weather pattern is not unusual for the Salt Flats.
Did you come across a New Zealand chap with an Indian Scout 45 by any chance?
Regards
Fred
