Wait the day for the part from Tom. If your karma is anywhere similar to mine, the cracked part will become the failed part almost immediately following completion of assembly and first start-up. Since replacing this part later requires a whole lot of rework, the chances of it failing on first start go up exponentially.

There are folks who seem to do stupid stuff on purpose, sometimes as a test of their other abilities or maybe just their luck. A few even brag about it. [!!] Enough stuff goes wrong by accident, no need to add more on purpose. My too sense.

Would do this.
Would be a hassle to go back in.

Yes...i see the sense in this, although i am somewhat worried about getting the sleeve out of this one and into the new one...guess i'll fight that battle soon enough.

At this point...i have to say...my sense of humour appears headed towards the door.

Nevertheless...better days ahead...Right?

Cheers,

Been here. Done this....several times.

Old stuff grows in place.

Order a used one.....there's never a valid reason to use something that you know is obviously bad on an engine....it is only going to bite you in the butt. JB Weld on that piece is a joke...too much vibration/harmonics on that thin cross section....you might as well pee on it.
