Why not start your own 928 parts forum on Facebook, Rog?

Must have missed the PM post and honestly, I'm ok with it being posted if it was the actual conversation I had with him this morning. I think it started with something along the lines of asking about his mental stability and telling him I wanted nothing from him at all. To leave me alone.

What I see here is a legitimate business run by someone who has a bit of a thin skin, and isn't really internet etiquette savvy. For what it's worth.

Kevin, I'm not sure it's completely fair to call someone a "hick" just because they're from Alpharetta ...

Thank you all of you out there given your negative comments who where "directly involved" in the transaction between Sean R and myself and know me so well!

Again, i sold Sean R two 20 year old H4 headlights from an Porsche 928-S4 for $100 a piece which one of them wasn't quit as he might have been expected. After talking to him personally we agreed on an exchange for another used one or money back in case it fails. I stayed in touch with Sean R since last week when i finally offered him his money back since i could not get another head light. He didn't wanted to send back the old headlight but instead he wanted the money for it for all of his "pain" and the long waiting time he was going thru! (his words)

Honestly guy's, now you tell me what i did wrong and WHY ROGER TYSON is on me and spreading things around since i never dealt with RT or talked to him about this issue or ever meet him in my entire life!!??

My reason to remove SR from my FB page is i am sort of tolerant but if someone call me dick and is accusing me of things i never did or said... well. Same for RT since this morning.

ALL i wanted was to solve this issue and PAY or either EXCHANGE the part!! Whats wrong with that??

Also, i am not afraid of speaking out but this thing(thats why it was removed from me) shouldn't be resolved in the public. It is an issue between SR and myself.

One more thing to say. My facebook page was intend for ppl like you out there wanting to either buy/sell or trade parts. If i post a part for sale with a price on it which is negotiable as i always state in the post and someone else post in the same post " go to r or intl" i will remove that post since i want to sell my parts.
I am sure that most of you out there know where to buy parts. I do not need negative comments on parts i am posting! All things can be disused in a manly matter but what is going on here and started from SEAN RATTS and ROGER TYSON is NOT tolerated anymore!

Rich
You are so full of **** Rich. You sold me, in your words, two good condition H4's. This is what I got.

Two head lights that are only similar in that they are round. One with busted mounting tabs and the other so clear you can almost see through it. Yes I got a good price but would not have purchased if I had seen a picture or the ad didnt' state they were "great". They are not even from the same car as one has the tit and the other doesn't. Funny that the day you offered to give me some money back I got a PM from one of the guys who was interested, saying he had been in contact with you and was wondering if I was going to return them because you promised to sell them to him for a hell of a lot more than I paid for them.

As to your offer of a refund, you did offer me $100 back because it was wrong. Remember I paid you $240.00 for the pair. I said sure. You stated about 10 minutes later that you'd like one of them back. I said naa, I'll hang on to them and use them as parts. No where did I state I was in pain or try anything shady. You advertised a product and failed to deliver on what you advertised. I left it at that until you decided to play like a petulant child and start banning people for outing you as the con man you are appearing to be.

You have constantly been deleting peoples posts on your products and we've all noticed that you delete entire for sale posts as soon as someone has an issue. I said it was a "dick move" to delete me from the groups you were admining due to your personal issues, which seem to be that I had told a group of people in PM that you were not as good as your word and to beware. Now you've lost some of those admin privileges. It's no wonder you have been banned from Facebook for spamming people over the last several months.

You may well be right - but sometimes you just have to come to the realization that you must STOP DIGGING...

Defensive gets you nowhere...never mention lawyers, don't try to hide the story...

OTOH:

Magnanimity always wins, give the customer the benefit of any doubt, always be ready to apologize even for things you didn't do.

Some vendors get this all on their own - some don't.

Yes, i said you'll get your money back. What part didn't you not understand??

Also, this is by far to much and what you are telling is out of discussing. And what you said to me is all saved on my phone.

If you still have our entire conversation, re read what was said a dozen times. I do not want anything from you, no money, no head lights, no parts only for you to leave me alone. I know this seems hard to understand. I'm happy with our transaction. I know who to deal with and who not to. You are on the list of those I will not do business with.

Repeat, I want NOTHING from you except for you to go away.

"This is an open group for anyone to use as a platform to sell, buy or trade anything Porsche 928 related."
This is what is posted on the header on Rich VW Facebook forum for parts - I GUESS HE CHANGED HIS MIND 8>)

Rich would have been fine if he hadn't have started booting people from the groups. This thread is a perfect example. Granted he might not have learned this lesson as quickly though.

This was an early warning... He was aggressively recruiting people to join this group via friend-ings and stuff. I don't remember what the issue was specifically, but facebook chastised him for it. I joined the group because a friend of mine did (which is the way it's supposed to happen) and I took the description at face value. I was a little ticked when I realized it was (almost?) 100% sourced from his inventory, meaning that it's not a social group but a marketing campaign. But only a little ticked, because such things are still valuable. I just wish he had the courage to describe what it actually was. Something like "used 928 parts for sale by Rich VM, but you can post yours here too".

So, the crime was a somewhat harmless misrepresentation. But misrepresentations are a pretty big breach of internet etiquette. He probably doesn't care what I say, but basic business etiquette on the internet:

* be transparent
* rectify issues publicly (i.e., be transparent)
* don't delete posts (i.e., be transparent)
* never boot customers unless they are aggressively campaigning against you.
* develop a thick skin.
* NEVER play the lawyer card against customers unless they owe you a large sum of money, because there is always a better solution.
