Ive bought quite a few items from RichVM, always a stand up guy, and all parts arrived well packed and as described, I think the problem lays with people getting their knickers in a twist, and for Roger Tyson to come here and bad mouth a competitor seems a bit shonky to me, then again, I find these forums full of arrogant ****** anyway, but maybe just because Im an Aussie.

I cannot understand 2 things, maybe in 6 pages I lost something.....
1 I have my own job and I can make mistakes....in case,my customers never behaved like ROger, twice 2different customers behaved like Sean.In italy we say " if you eat bread, you make crumbs".
Also roger made mistakes , I think(I hope or my speech is weak and ROger is supernatural!)

2 I cannot understand Rich behaviour for Sean refund and the quality of parts.
Anyway the important thing is not to make big crumbs and to become good eating bread, in the future.

Regards, Francesco

Francesco,

your "eat bread, make crumbs" comment made me laugh out loud this morning. Grazie.

For the drama queens out there, take Dr. Bob's advice.

Just a couple of personal thoughts from a long time fellow 928 owner and internet user...

USED 928 PARTS
Mark Anderson and 928 INTL has set the bar very high for anyone trying to get into the 928 used parts business. It is going to be difficult for anyone to meet the expectations the 928 community has become accustom to from a used part supplier because of it.

SOCIAL MEDIA AS A SALES TOOL
In my opinion Social Media like FaceBook is a horrible place to set up shop selling anything. Advertising yes, social events and comments, announcing sales, etc. yes, listing and selling things like it is an ebay store NO. It's just too cheap and easy to set up a actual web site these days. Use that to list your parts availability. Then use social media and forums like this to let people know about your web site i.e.. Advertising.

DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS
Any business using the internets is going to have dissatisfied customers that vent by posting negative comments in public forums. Face it, people buying parts are not typically happy about it. Their car is broken and they are having to spend money and time to fix it. The best way to deal with those postings is to ignore them. Your reaction should be to strive to make all your interactions with your customers positive ones making them feel like they are your most important customer. Even if it cost you, it will always bring more profits in the long term.

CRAIGS LIST OF 928 PARTS
If you want to set up and be the Craigs List for 928 parts then make that your goal. Use selling our own parts as an example of how to list parts and interact with others not as the main purpose of the site. Realize that other businesses like 928 INTL, 928srus, and 928 Specislist are your Allies NOT your competition. Support them and they will support you. If you've done it right they will be coming to your site when looking for a part for a customer they don't have in inventory or to sell unwanted inventory. When the traffic is there they may even pay to advertise on your site. Make it totally about connecting people with parts to sell with the people that want or need them.

Just my thoughts

Play he-said she-said in a public forum does nothing to improve the situation for either party. There's dirty laundry everywhere, everybody has some. Pointing to someone and accusing them of having dirtier laundy than yours is almost laughable. I just dumped a load in the Maytag myself. By the time it's all done, what I'm wearing now will probably be ready for the treatment anyway. Just trying to stay ahead of the curve a little.

I am following advice, actually, I am repeating step3 continously.... and forgot why I wrote here.

Eat bread , make crumbs is an old proverb coming from my grandma....
but it's true. Errare humanum est...( perseverare diabolicum)

Point has been made and hopefully Rich VM will learn the valuable lesson of do not screw with the 928 community.
