Default 87' 928 S4 @ U Pull it in Chicago, IL - HURRY

Ok, just a fellow car enthusiast trying to help before vultures crow bar this car. I was at LKQ U Pull it (self serve auto parts) at 4555 W. North Ave Chicago, IL. Terrible yard nothing good. As I was leaving yesterday Friday (4/25) they put out a perfect 87' 928 S4 with 114k. Red on Black. Pretty good paint, nice interior. I was just standing there like WTF, why is this here and well as some other people. The sticker on the window indicated it was booted for unpaid parking. The owners registration in the glove box said this car and 2001 911 was insured. So im assuming the owner just said F-you to the tickets and let them take the car? So they open at 9am this morning and please go line up and get parts before people start to just molest this car. I took headlights, spoiler, front brembos, front fogs, spare, tool kit, floor mats.

That is tragic. The body and interior look good. I could use the left and right driving light assemblies and the whole armrest. Any chance you are going back today? I could Paypal you the cost for the items, your time and shipping. Thanks for letting everyone know.

Australian dash though.

It looks like it should have been sold, not scrapped. If I were to follow the typical opinion here, I'd say that it makes every other one more valuable. I'm not normal though

Wow. That is truly unbelievable...
Someone should see if they can purchase the entire thing from Pull-A-Part.
Haul it outta there to a safe haven where at least it can be disassembled properly.
There are literally a TON of really nice parts on that car...

I would have considered a rescue, but the parts already taken would make that a tougher proposition.
EDIT: Nevermind. They won't sell it whole. They would charge for every single part on the car.

If I were close, I'd be in there today. Too bad the whole car isn't for sale. That would be a nice one to have!

Not much left of the interior...drivers side has hole on bolster pass very good shape. I may go back when the dust settles. List what you need here in case someone goes back. Computers and ce panel still there.

Rather than addressing absolute value, is says that the relative value of a whole 928 is less than the individual parts. I believe it is a stage in classic car life before intact cars start to appreciate significantly.

Or they anticipate some title issues and so want to get it distributed in an untraceable fashion ASAP...

Kinda sucks but, in a backhanded way it's keeping other cars on the road. In that case I'm okay with it being taken apart. Still sucks *** though.

...or it makes our current cars better. I picked up the center console for $60 including the HVAC control. Theres some value with a parts car here but if the owner gave it up because of parking tickets, it was not as important to him as it would be to us. If it improves our cars theres an upside and doesn't suck for us that need parts for improvements that makes our car more valueable. Yes sucks for the owner for letting it go but not for us needing parts. Thank you for the post it has made a great day for me and the shark on improvements.
