Is the possibly Phil Threshie's work? Seller signed Q&A 'Phil'

IIRC, Threshie (DBA 928 Developments) was in the Cali bay area. This seller is in Colorado Springs.

This is what tipped me off:
from ebay ad, ... have been run in engines that I built back in 2007 with great success and longevity

Sounds like Phil to me as well. That was around the time that 928D closed. Dont know many people that got his cams. I think maybe Paul Hammaday out on the east coast had a set?

Depends on
-who welded it and how
-what profile they ground on it
-what kind of a profile your engine needs

I've had a set threshie welded cams in my hands before.
Run, don't walk run.
As well as that price the job likely wasn't done very well.

I also don't like the S4 cams due to their narrow LSA. That's why I had new ones made.

Default cams

so speaking of that, I still have yet to find a description of tri-flow (in your application). Optimizes flow at valves? Special (valve) grind required? what?

Tri-flow creates a stronger vacuum with larger lift, this gives back the bottom end torque that is normally lost when using massive camshaft grinds.

I saw gobs of torque difference in a few spots with the tri-flow.....

With base stage II camshafts doing a compression test results in around 150 psi. With tri flow the compression numbers bump up to 185-190 on an S4.
There is no real difference in top end power, but mid range is greatly improved.

This is just the intake set. I won the auction, but not really on purpose. I put in 176 which is one dollar over the original bid. If its phil he is just trying to capture some cash he had laying around in parts. If its not then someone else is doing the same.

For 176 dollars I can bring it to a few people in SoCal and see if I an use them for anything. This way I can save my modified S3 cams for other sets of heads.

I'll use these in my test motor maybe with some S3 or GTS exhaust cams. I'll have to bring them to crower south of town to see what the real numbers are.

Wish me luck.
