BC , I have a set of Phil's cams . JUNK ! If the motor has any value do not put them in ! I bought them from Don Hanson on recommendation from Louie . JUNK . I had a look at them and decided they are scrap . The triflows from Colin wonderful ! The GT cams can just collect dust

For 176 dollars I can bring it to a few people in SoCal and see if I an use them for anything. This way I can save my modified S3 cams for other sets of heads.

I'll use these in my test motor maybe with some S3 or GTS exhaust cams. I'll have to bring them to crower south of town to see what the real numbers are.

Wish me luck.
Combine them with a set of GT exhausts and you will have just about perfect lobe centers for a street car. Should be a really good combination.

I put used GTS cams in my motor, my stock ones were in better shape so why not have a spare set around, see what happens.

Thanks. When I get these I'll bring them round and maybe we can figure out if they are usable.

Junk . As in welded up used cam , porous welds , overflow on the sides of lobes , a little bit of heat related warping , unknown lobe hardness . SCRAP . not worth the risk to use in a good motor . This was also GB opinion . I only kept them for measurements

I don't think Phil ground his own cams. Whether they are any good would depend upon who did the work. I would imagine most upgraded cams running in 928's are welded. There haven't been many sources for camshaft blanks in the 928 world. Colin's cams get rave reviews but they have only been available for the last year or two.

Mine are German chill cast, same as the factory cams.
They are also brand new with zero wear. I have put many many miles on my car with them and have seen zero wear.
They do come with a 1 year limited warranty too.

Greg Brown saw my cams at sharktoberfest 2011, and he bought a set, and installed them into Joe Fan's stroker. *edited for Greg* he's using a different grind, but still the same cams.

The cams that Terry has were in the hands of a camgrinder, not just pictures.
Additionally, if you put them into a head you could see that they were not exactly straight.

Wouldn't the warp in the cam just give you more power?
