In another thread on interiors... our old friend and once regular poster rixter had access to the interior codes and their breakdown, and was in the process of making that info available to all of us -then nothing.

On Rob's list he has linked in his sig, there are production number totals for all '80-'95 options (excellent list Rob!)... any chance there are production numbers by production year? Or what years the specific codes were used (seems like some were re-numbered)?

There is an excellent 'app' on the 928OC site that will parse the number of times a given option code was used in a particular year. I have done that analysis manually for some things but certainly not all. If I'm ever really bored I could figure out the date ranges used for each option code #.

The real holy grail is the official interior/color code book that Rixter (and Nicole???) had access to. Not sure whether it was a factory paper publication or online from the PPN network. I know the PPN build sheets list exterior and interior colors and their related codes. Now _that_ would be a useful database.

As that print suggests it was fetched by giving individual VIN into some Porsche system which then collects data from backround database. It's likely this is only inferface available for typical user who has access to this data. Therefore complete list of data for 928's is not going to happen simply because it's too much manual work to get it out of the system one by one. There would have to be different more direct access to database where multible records would be returned for single request or at least possibility to do those requests by program code which would go through all possible VIN's. Probably not going to happen any time soon. That's why we don't have info about how many cars where done in each available color combination.
