All '83 US market cars were marketed as 'S's, as they all had 'S' brakes and a 4.7 liter 234 hp engine that was new for 1983. But they're not Euro Ss, which had the higher compression 4.7 liter motor with bigger cams and 60 more hp.

Thanks for the explanation Rob. I spoke to one of the 928 parts guys about putting the bigger cams in, but it's really not worth the spend for the few horsepower gain. Now, if the engine needs to be rebuilt and somebody is doing it all anyway, higher compression, bigger cams, intake and injectors it think it could make sense. However, as some point an LS swap with 500 HP starts to look real attractive.
