I had the screw tube unthread so it was time to dissemble the entire mirror assembly.
Everything went smooth( well kind of) but now trying to get glass mirror attached again is giving me headaches.
The 928 is a 1989 model and different than my previous 1986.
What is the method to get glass mirror secured, I just can't seemed to get it secure again.
You have to turn the locking ring on the mirror glass so the four tabs on the mirror motor fit into the openings in the locking ring. Then you reach in through the hole in the bottom of the mirror body with a flatblade screwdriver pushed into the slots you see at 6 o'clock and rotate the locking ring so it captures the mirror motor tabs.
