The side protections are not listed because they were included into the regular equipment of a RoW 1982 928 S.
Also the M28/11 is a "potential interference" engine, so when in doubt, change the timing belt.

Nice configuration, by the way.

WOW, I had a feeling about this car. I was looking at a few, but kept coming back to this one. Mainly because the PO had taken care of a ton of stuff. Quick question... I thought I read in this thread that some were buying COA's... Is that some thing you help with Rob or am I mistaken.

Picking it up

Hi 928cs,
Thank you. So looks they will stay lol. What makes it potentially an "interference" fit. The PO knew this car pretty well as it has been in his family for over 10 years. Is there a way to know for sure ( and he changed the tb not long ago )?

Euro 928s (except the 1978/1979 4,5l) have interference engines. So if the timing belt broke, you can be in trouble.
If the tb is less than 5 years old, you just need to check that everything is in order.

Brilliant, thank you so much!

Just a question though, is there an identifying mark for the low compression M28/22 engine or is the M28/21 the low compression version?

Thanks

M28.21 is the 310 hp 4.7 motor bolted to a 5-speed manual, M28.22 is bolted to a 4-speed automatic. As far as I'm aware, the only countries that received the lower compression M28.21/22 motors are Sweden, Switzerland, and Australia. So I'd think that a S.A. car would have the 10.4:1 compression pistons. And I don't think there was an external indicator on the motor. But it would be easy to pull a plug and look with a borescope at the valve reliefs.
