I still have to do this yet again as the transmission slips out of gear in forward. So if there are areas that need correcting I can do that when I get around to pulling and installing the next transmission this spring I hope.

Great to see you up finally and "taking nourishment." I still have the Transmission on a pallet and in the back of the garage if you want to have it a little later like we discussed before.

Well done!

its a lot of "awkward" weight but as you see if you move it around bit by bit...take your time, its not that bad of a job.

I did mine in a very similar fashion except I left the front bell housing attached to the engine. I removed the 4 bolts on the TT to the Bell housing, the pinch bolt on the collar and the 6 flex plate bolts. I cut an opening in the bottom of my bell housing a few years ago anticipating this sort of job again some time....this allowed me to dropped the hole unit it down through the opening while not having to deal with the bell housing bolts on the engine side. Worked really well.

I also dropped the suspension and transmission/TT as separate units. It was a bit easier to handle I thought.
Bottom line the job gets done either way!

Superb work Dean........great to see and hear how it can be done with minimal 'special' tools.

Bill Ball came up with a way when we did mine. its one of those right angle , twist socket wrenches. its the only way it could be done.

This is what I used to get mine out. The swivel socket worked for me.

I used a standard air ratchet and 6" extension once I broken them loose. Watch the locating pins. You'll need to keep track of them. They can make it a little bit of a bear to get the TT off the bellhousing.
