Got the SOB installed On the motor! My buddy Anton came over with some fish water (bonus points if you know it) and we got it installed.

Feeling really good!

Outstanding- big milestone to have the motor in one piece! Good heater in the garage or is global warming making it T-shirt weather in MI this week?

Got a kerosene torpedo heater many year back. Rod K (69gaugeman) helped me hook up a thermostat 6-7 years ago. Makes it easy. One of my better garage purchases.

So IIRC you took out the engine from below using your MAXJAX did you go back the same way? What's your preferred method to install lift crane or lift?

Correct. I did take it out from below. Not 100% sure that was the "best" way. It worked. I was hoping I could avoid having to take the Devel LII headers off with the motor in situ.

I will be using a crane to re-install. I think it's a bit easier... but only a tiny bit. Should be in next weekend, I think.

Looking great Andrew!! I'm so jealous! LOL. Mines apart all over the garage, living room, and dining room. Thank God Heather loves me and the car. :-)

I spent the day yesterday cleaning up the last little bits, replacing the rear main seal, and pilot bearing. Then, I dropped it in. Went it without any issue working solo.

This is the first time the car has touched the ground in the past 3 years! Wow!

Andrew,

With a crane that big you could lift the car into the engine! What was it originally intended for- an M1A1 Abraham engine?

Looking very nice indeed.

Too bad you couldn't drop it in with the headers installed.

Looking good!

This week's progress was a bit on the slow side. Kids had lots of activities and I had a wedding and a progressive dinner to attend... so basically I was drunk or hung over most of the weekend.

However, I did make some major "milestone" progress (sorry no pics this week... I blame the beers!)

I got the clutch re-installed. Whoo hoo. Upon close inspection, however, I'm not sure how long that thing is going to last. The friction is... well... sketchy. Not a lot of life left in it. Probably can make it through the summer, but that's about it. Whatever, I knew it was marginal.

But the BIG news is, Headers are back in! WHOO HOO! Major PITA, but now that I've done it a few times, I'm starting to get it down. But driver-side nuts are the WORST! Have to be extra creative with the extensions and universals. Passenger-side took about 30-45 minutes. Driver-side took 2 hours.

Have a few more things to do on the underside, but for now, I will turn my attention to the top-side. Need to reinstall the front-end harness, air-box, injectors, fuel rails, radiator, oil cooler, power steering pump, alternator, and hood. Then I'm done... maybe. At least a few more weeks. Mother is coming into town on Thursday, so probably little progress this weekend.

Been busy at work, but made substantial progress over the last weekend. Airbox is now on. Fuel system is on. Next is front harness, power steering, AC, rad and fan, and I think I'm just about done.

Unfortunately, it looks like I may be out of town next week so progress is slowing a bit, but I will get it running before March... I hope.

When you're done can you come by and pull my motor so I can fix all the fire damaged stuff? Thanks.
