Right on, Alan.
I used to live in PB during my young single days. Ended up buying a place in Encinitas with my bride 23 years ago.
Not many places left in SD that were affordable back then with a bit of ocean view..

Hi Boom Boom,
My name is Jordan and I'm brand new to this forum. Is that black 5-speed GTS still for sale? I certainly wouldn't paying high 30,000s for that example considering what it's missing and modified, but I'd love to find out if its still for sale.

Hi there NY Overlord,
Yes that one and others that have come forward. One actually is better than the other IMHO. PM me with your email address and I'll get you connected with these particular vehicles and see if you can work something out.
Regards,
Alan

Loading my 993 on the Transporter
Hi all,
My 993 Cab is now gone. Strange emotions as I am really looking forward to the 928, but will miss the 993 a lot. Maybe some day I can have another 911 variant of some kind. In the meanwhile the garage has an empty slot waiting to be filled by the next inanimate object that provokes emotions and stirs us in ways that only cars can do.
I look forward to getting to know the 928 community and enjoying the 928.
Have a safe New Year's celebration.
Alan

You're going to get worse once the car arrives.

Well boomboom,
How did your story end? Did you buy the 928 and enjoy it? I see a 911 turbo cab in your garage now. Soooooo, there must be a story.
I am in the market for a GTS and/or 911 Turbo - considering the merits of four cars:
1. Silver 94 auto with 26,000 miles. Mostly original and at auction on BAT.
2. Iris Blue 94 5 speed with 72,000 miles (expensive with performance mods.)
3. Black/Black 94 5 speed with 23,000 miles converted from auto (inexpensive with LS motor and performance mods) remarkably nice interior.
4. Sapphire Blue 15 Turbo Exclusive with 11,000 miles. Expensive, under warranty and depreciating (how's that for a curve ball.)
My wife will also be driving this car occasionally (500 - 1,000 miles per year) as a summer toy and we want something quieter on Michigans roads than the 2012 Carrera GTS she seldom drives because of the road noise.
Is the 911 Turbo quiet enough for easy phone conversations at highway speeds?

Boom Boom bought the Zyclamrot S4, added a super charger and had car repainted. Here is purchase thread, sale of car about 3 years later at end of the thread
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/794410-new-zyclamrot-owner.html
He lives in my neighborhood, and the last I saw him, he had bought another 911, this time a Turbo.

Rob,
Richard and I are talking quite a bit, what a great guy! His car is as you say - compelling... I love the color!!!
So sad that his foot was hurt, the compounding circumstances that resulted in his inability to heel-toe are profoundly rare. His recovery is equally rare and every day is a gift, regardless of the complications. His chances of further recovery are pretty good as well. His vision is also getting better, Yeah!
The car is beautiful and from what I have seen and heard, I'd love to own it. I think that I would be a great steward/owner given my long history with 928's. Heck, my birthday is even 9/28!
It has been raining like crazy at his house, so he can't take the photos that I want to confirm everything I have heard about the cars condition.
That leaves price determination as the "compelling" question that needs to be answered. The color and condition certainly raise the value, but the modifications and miles push it back down in most buyers eyes. I've been insulted by people smack talking the value of my outlaw GT down and also know that I can not get top dollar for it because of its modifications. I do not want to insult Richard with an inappropriate offer and he already has a couple of low ball offers from flippers (not my intent).
Prices have been on the rise, but seem to have plateaued according to Haggerty. Feel free to share your thoughts on what I should pay for this car given your even greater involvement with 928's.
Regards,
Dave
