I got the engine numbers, if some body can tell me what they say I'd appreciate it.

Might want to double-check the numbers, but yours isn't on the charts.:

This won't solve the mystery, but there have been at least two other threads where 90 S-4 has shown pictures of the same engine number M 28/23. As previously stated this is not shown on any of the engine code listings that I have seen.

I'd rather hope it was a normal number, because buying parts is a problem if I can't figure what motor it is. It has two distributors and two coils too.

Thanks for posting

Omg it's a boat motor.

I think I will look for a 1985 engine with the right numbers, maybe not for the near future but for a future engine transplant.

Anyone know what numbers to look for 1985 928s?

Holy crap, seriously????? ONe step closer to U-Boat commander than the rest of us, for sure!

That is EPIC!!!!! And so novel that I'd be wondering about detriments of keeping it as is vs converting it back, just 'cause whattheheck.

your Dist cap setup and likely coils is appropriate for a 32V cars, they are basically siamesed 4 cyl systems.

85 motor shouldn't be hard to come by- but the baggage that it comes with is the question. 928INtl will give you straight talk on the condition & known history (if any) of any that they have in stock. They typically have a half- off sale on used parts once per year, thankfully!!!

I was so hoping you meant '3 piece spoiler', and not 3 spoilers- but glad you are digging it!

Where'sErkka?!
