Default A question about the LH

Assuming that power to the LH is present, and that the grounds are good, and the LH is functioning as designed, what conditions must be met (i.e. built into the LH architecture) before it energizes the the EZK relay?

There's both 30 power (constant power) and 15 power (switched by the ignition) at the LH.

After that, given your other parameters, all you need is a crank trigger signal.

The EZK Relay (called DI Relay on later models) isn't switched by the LH at all.

It is switched on only by the alarm and the Ignition circuit (15). There is no fuse but the alarm unit must be present and it must not be alerting or powered off.

If you apply power [ (30) or (15) ] to CE pin N11 you can ensure its powered and see that the relay works.

Likely you have an alarm issue of some kind - up to and including that there isn't one installed (but needs to be).

This car did not have a factory installed alarm.
It has the alarm plug jumped with a factory jumper.

OK so this must be on one of the '87s then...

Then check CE pin F25* which should behave as the ignition (15) does (connected via the jumper) - this goes to the coil of the EZK relay while the other side of the coil is grounded.

*this is on an '87 - (on a '90 or later its N11). (BTW on an '87 N11 is an NC)

NB Best to always identify which vehicle the question is about in each thread... the exact connections vary by year.

It is an 87 5spd with no factory alarm
It cranks but does not get any spark, or power to the fuel pump.

The diagnostic computer says"No further response from ECU's"

Initially the diagnostic computer saw the LH, but not the EZK, now it does not see either.

fuses 1 thru 29 show hot, all have been checked

relays switched, and LH EZK computers worked in another car.

the car has been apart, and the intake just recently put on.

no movement in TAC when cranking, except when car is hooked to battery charger

Crank Pos sensor was switched as well.

What was the condition of the plug for the CPS? If it allows you to install it upsidedown, it will not fire.

How many volts should be present at the CPS?

Refer to the diagnostic section at the end of Vol 1 A of the WSM.

Are all of the battery connections properly connected, particularly the smaller diameter red wires that connect to the bar on the +ve terminal and provide power to the CE panel?
