That would be me! Check you email. I've also been working on a set of custom headers for it too.

Jim,
Have you dynoed it? What's your estimate of additional HP?

Jim,
I can't recall, did you use the Snow Performance water injection on your Merc? Or was it another brand? I have 2 unused Edelbrock Varajection units don't know if I want to use those or go w/ the Snow.

Ernest,

No, the headers are not complete but if I had to guess I'd say another 50 to 60 RWHP over what I had before. The stock exhaust system on the 560 Mercedes is the worst system I have seen on anything after 1950. If you look up restriction in the dictionary, it will have a picture of the stock Mercedes manifolds. That's how restrictive the stock ones are.

Andy,

Yep, I'm using the Snow methanol injection and it works like a charm. I'm using the stock windshield washer fluid resevoir for my mix. The stock resevoir is around one gallon +- and will last a hell of a lot longer than the one included in the kit. I'm pumping around 10 psi and the only thing I use to cool the mixture is the Snow injection.

I think the stock CR is 9:1 and the pistons are cast.

Jim,
I'm going to try this Varajection system since I have it. It is supposed to deliver varying amounts of water/methanol mist in relation to rpms. It is controled by boost/vac and RPMs and a # of cylinders adjustment. I need to figure out where to get an RPM signal from though. The directions call for connecting it to the distributor to tachometer lead. I could be mistaken but the S4 has nothing so simple. Any suggestions? I think I will start a thread.
Thanks again,
Andy K

Greg,

Still waiting for the return of my shark. In the mean time, I'm making my Mercedes SEC very fast.

Jim, can you direct us to where we can get more info on your plans and specs for that 560? I'd hate to make you go through telling the story again if you've done it many times before...unless you feel like indulging us one more time! I'm a fan of the 560 and would love to know the potential you're exploring in it

Tarek,

I have a 560 SEC with an ATI Procharger P1SC and around 10 psi of boost. I'm running the Snow methanol/water injection to cool the intake charge. I'm using the stock CIS-E injection. The headers are being custom fabricated for my car.

What else would you like to know?

Jim,

thank you for the info. Since the headers are being custom fabricated, I'm guessing it is currently not running. Will you have before and after dyno graphs when the headers are installed? (or is it currently running, and do you have dyno sheets already, in pre-custom headers stage?)

TIA

Tarek,

Currently it is at 314 RWHP and 365 RWTQ. I will dyno the car after I get the headers and new exhaust installed.

Here is a comparison of the stock 560 SEC manifolds and the new headers:
