Not bad.

We will see how this works. Techline coating for low friction and a porken tensioner should let these last a good long while.

Looks nice - BUT - we don't want the friction to be too low...

Right. I was thinking it would reduce the grabbing and wear but still, You know, stay on.

You suck BC. I say that because I'm looking for a set that I can get re-coated before pulling the trigger on a new set and am jealous. Details?

Yep, a little chip. Not a concern for this motor. It's all a test. I don't think it is an issue anyway.

The coating is just sprayed on and then baked. It could come off, but I doubt it. It's from tech line coatings.

I bought a harbor freight air brush kit and had at it.

Like 50 bucks. But I already had the sand blast cabinet and an air compressor.

I guess I'll see if it really works.

You did this at home and baked it in the wife's oven?

Looks good but how do you quality assure the process [DFT etc]?

Will be interesting to read about whether it works- wish you well with it.

Regards

Fred

People laughed at Columbus when he set sail off the edge of the earth, people told Murph that the 928 had too high of a static C/R to supercharge, history is full of men who were brave enough to not be satisfied with the status quo.

So the idea is to protect a known good gear with the coating, doesn't repair or help a worn one, right?

People laugh at me all the time. But Looks aren't everything. The engine these go on is an experiment in itself. S3 bottom, S4 heads. S3 cams. Ethanol. Getting closer.
