Default Bought my 928 today!! But won't be changing the timing belt...

...because it has a chevy 350 under the hood!!!

This is going to be interesting. Hope you guys won't chase me off the site (a little support from the pro-SBC swap guys would be appreciated)
For the price I hope I can't lose. I'll be running down from Montreal to Vermont to see it tomorrow and pay for it, if there are no big snags, then have to organise to import it.
I am a little nervous about running into problems with the manditory pre-registration inspection for Quebec, but what the... I am already fantasizing about all those add on goodies available for SBCs.

I support it , put some hopped up high compression heads on it,
a better cam, make sure it has hydrolic lifters so you don't have to do valve adjustments,
maybe even add a fuel injection system so you can easily tune it and get more power from it along with better emissions...
the possibilities are endless with that engine considering they are so common. Have fun with it

That seems like a lot of fun for the price if it's done half right.
You have read the import info here and on the Canadian RL site, right? (and the government site)
And, you have sent a copy of the title to the US folks to give them 72 hours to clear the car for export?

Nice buy.

But I don't see the A/C condenser or compressor. Maybe the PO's pics aren't at the proper angle?

Anyway--looks like fun--congratulations!

Hey, how did you guys do that bit of team work?!

Cut me a bit of slack guys... I haven't even seen the car myself yet. Will try and get some up this evening when I am back from my initial bonding session.

Yea, I have printed out the most important part of the thread I found and will be will be giving my info to the US side on my way back today. I won't be bringing the car back till next weekend when I was already planning to be in Vermont on an excursion to pickup parts for my 924S at Freeport Forwarding.

Very cool. Looks clean. I've always liked the SBC / LS swap idea if my engine suffered a catastrophic failure.

Hmm, seems Canuck funny money and freshly printed green backs equally worthless these days!

I might have bought your plea for clemency but the advert says quote: "The Best thing is it has a Chevvy motor"-

People were castrated/burnt at the stake for much less in the dark ages.

Hope it has a strong motor with plenty of ponies. I guess you cannot expect too much for $3k so you cannot lose on the deal sacriligious as it may be.

Regards

Fred

That car is a cool color, looks like a lots of fun, and appears to be a heck of a deal!

I am not opposed terribly if the conversion was done correctly, but why was it done? It appears that the car is a Euro, if you don't mind, what is the VIN? Trust me I have thought plenty about converting to a SBC, but only if I have a major fault with the engine... Good luck!
