I just have to say that the pic of the car minus the fenders always reminds me of the 'Bodies' museum exhibit.

Just a bit creepy.

Decided to so some indoor work today. These are Classic9 covers. I am fortunate to have many sets of seats to work with. This particular set had the best foam as they wre removed from a 79 back in the early 90s. Vinyl still needs to settle a little.

I have recovered many seats in the past including other 928 seats but I must tell you, these new covers are not easy to work with. Fit and craftsmanship is great but the vinyl and cloth combo doesn't give the same way leather does. Fragile to install and tight fit.

Wow. Hard to believe it's been 3 years since I last posted to this thread. Had a few 928 projects and a couple 924 in the interim. It's now time for my own car to get some love.

Prep has begun for paint!

Items getting cut in today. Hopeful to have the paint done by the weekend. 11 years in the making.

Great thread... so where did you get the seat covers for pascha? I have just acquired a 1979 that came with Black/Brown pascha interior, I really just need front seat bottoms and been trying to find just those so I can keep as much of the original as possible (preservation vs restoration as you originally started), but having a hard time find anything.

thanks! I used Classic9. Ordered these back in 2018 or so. I personally wouldn't do these covers again. Vinyl was too thin. I don't hold that against Rob at Classic 9, the appearance is excellent just not a big fan of the weight. Leather and Pasha would be the way to go in the future.

If its just the cloth section needed, Rob at classic 9 has done repairs for me in the past at very reasonable rates with great results. Just be sure your vinyl or leather is soft enough to work with.

Always a milestone day! Congratulations on turning the corner, just a little reassembly and you're all set.

Thank you! Hard to believe how much time has passed and how many cars i managed to work on while this one waited in a corner. Thanks for all the help and support all these years.

Thank you! A "little" bit of work and a lot of money away from being done. I did so many things backwards with this car but it's all coming together. I am taking a no expense spared approach from here forward. God help me

Got tied up with other Porsche projects but no more, I am on task to get my car completed.

Assembled front bumper and fenders today. It's a blessing to have 5 full cars worth of parts to go thru to get the best of what I have but it does slow things down a bit.

I am taking a no holds barred approach for the most part. Replacing with new where possible and on items that you can only access once, like the headlight washers etc. All replated hardware as well but I may need to go back and replace a fastener here or there as I am suspiciously short on some items.

I think someone raided by hardware stash over the past 11 years. ( someone being me)

Took me 17 tail lights to get these two

Excuse the shop dust.
