Well...I am not going to say I am out of the woods yet but I did pull the computers last night and reseated the chips I installed right before I left for Frenzy. I took a 30 minute hard drive last night and took it to work today.....so far it has not cut off.

Here is a picture I just took in the bank parking lot. I still wish I could have brought it.

I learned a valuable lesson about Virginia....which is they will give speeding tickets at 10 over. Me and Harvey got hit on the way home with an 80 in a 70. Hope to goodness there is a way to get it reduced. Can't handle 3 points on my record.

The car looks beautiful.
Sorry to hear about your run in with the law. Hopefully you can plea bargain at the court.

Car looks great. Sorry we didn't get to see it in person.

I believe VA also considers 80 to be "reckless driving" but my brother can chime in to confirm. I think he had an issue in VA not too long ago...

Another fun year at Frenzy, Glad I could make it again. It is always fun to meet new folks, and to see friends again.

80 in Virginia is considered reckless, bring your car to a speedometer test shop and more than likely if you have changed your wheel or tires from the standard factory size, your speedometer will read inaccurately. Bring the results to court and they will charge you with improper equipment and no points will be given. You can also tweak the needle on your speedometer as well, before bringing it to be tested.

Yep, 80+ is reckless in VA. Get a lawyer, or handle it yourself and just volunteer to take a driver's improvement course and ask that it be reduced to improper/defective equipment. This latter option, though, is only available if you have a good driving record. Sounds like that might an issue for you. What county where you in?

VA is not for speed lovers; this is a major revenue generator for the state.

I received 3 tickets in two stops in the span of two hours in VA before. 2 for having a radar detector and one for speeding.

Default Frenzy

Sorry to hear about the tickets in VA. Jeff and Harvey, that really sucks. -was that on I-81? - after I left Summit Point Raceway, Sunday, we where averaging close to that most of the way, but didn't have any trouble, my speedo is about 12 mph, off, due to Euro 273 rear end, we use GPS for proper speed.
Also I wanted to say to all at Frenzy- Heidi and I had a great time, meeting a lot more of the 928 Community, which is a great group,Especially John from WV, who let Heidi try his motorized cooler!, also the Oktoberfest on Saturday , and the PCA event at Summit Point Sunday, all in all a great weekend! -Looking forward to next years already- Lou S

Great to meet you and your wife too Lou.

As for VA speeding tickets, let me just preface this by saying I am NOT a lawyer. He was only 10 mph over, NOT reckless in VA. VA is one of the best States there is in my opinion for driving enforcement. Yes, tickets SUCK but anything can be worked out.

My friend who was at Frenzy watched my dumb Azz street race a Mondial returning from an instructors only day at Summit Point Raceway.

YUP! Beerfish got hammered with a 142 in a 55 on route 340!! Ugh. The cop LOVED 928's and said that was really why he pulled me over. That ticket was court imposed as 79 in a 55. I was released to drive home. Such a nice young officer. 30+ over is mandatory reckless I believe in VA.... but not always, wink.

Jeff and Harvey,
If either/both of your driving records are clean, I strongly suggest that you contest the charge in person.
I've had experience in rural Orange Co. VA in front of a hard-***, conservative good 'ol boy judge - with surprising success. Let me know if you want some insight/tips and I'll try to help.

Top of the Heap GTG
Thanks to one and all for the great time Julie and I had this weekend. Got home today, no tickets, no wild runs on the way back (thanks to my wife). 911 has carbon buildup from putt-putt all the way home, better go for a ride alone.
thanks again
steve
