comfort seat/memory seat wiring
I just received a set of seats from 928 intl.(BIG thanks to Tom, Mark and crew) and they are very very nice. My original seats are just standard comfort seats, but the new driver side is a memory seat.
The plug for this seat consists of a red/yellow strip wire (power), brown (ground), and green wire (unknown use). What is the green wire for? (this is the harness part from car not on seat) Opened the plug part on the seat and there is nothing there. One side of the plug is ground (4 plugs) and the other side (there are 8 total plugs) 3 are bridged (power) and then the green wire. There is extension of the green wire to the actual seat. It is just a dead end. Looking at the wsm is of no real help (I am electrically, and schematically challenged) Anyone know what this is for?
I have applied power to the brown and red power wires on the new seat and the work correctly. This plug has 13 connections and all have wires. I believe other than the red and brown everything else is for memory functions.
So what I have are 2 different plugs, one for 8 possible connections (only 4 are used though) and one for 13 possible connections (all are used) The seats work with providing power, but do I need be concerned with the other 11 wires? And what is the original green wire that comes out of the harness but goes nowhere for?
Hope my description is adequate and ideas for connecting appreciated.

Sorry Bill thought I put that in, doner car is an '88 I believe. Car going into is '86.5. I agree there are many more wires than a 'regular' seat. I just cannot figure what the green harness wire is for on the harness part in car. Tomorrow I will splice the power to seat. To get original seats working involved removing, disassembling, cleaning all four switches, something I won't need to do on these. Really not much fun.

Many thanks Bill! That is the page I was looking at, for some reason I just could not follow the line. Guess it is time for a new pair of reading glasses or a real optometrist. I believe all 3 cars will be ready for shartoberfest!
