Default 1157 LED w/ Resistor Built-In

Red 928 S4 1987 Auto.

I just ordered 2 new Tail Light Lens from Mark and want to prevent the "melting & cracking the Brake/Park light chamber" that caused water to get in and/or moisture in my old lens. In search of LED bulbs (cooler operating temperature), I found the following 1157 LED bulb which seems to just plug it in w/ no modification required.

Has anyone tried this new LED from Superbrightleds.com "1157 CAN Bus LED Bulb - Dual Intensity 26 SMD LED Tower" (110/420 Lumen) and $20? Advertised as "twice brighter than the "1157 LED Bulb - Dual Intensity 45 SMD LED Tower" (55/220 Lumen)" and $25. Also advertised, "Error free LED bulbs are specifically designed with built-in load resistors to allow them to be used with CAN(Controller Area Network) Bus equipped vehicles without triggering the OBC (on-board computer), commonly found in European vehicles such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Porsches."

Thanks.

My understanding is that if you get the white bulbs, they wash out the lens. I was told to use the red bulbs for the rear lights and the yellow bulbs for the turn signals.
After I did that research I as told the burnt bulb indication would be actuated if I don't put a resistor in series to each bulb. I did not want to go that deep into the project, so abandoned it.
I do not have any other knowledge about the "1157 CAN Bus LED Bulb".

Our cars do not have the can bus technology, these won't work if you're trying to fool the lamp controler.

I use the red 45 smd towers for stop, and the red 27 smd towers for running lights.
Jumper out the lamp controler and forgetaboutit.

And yes, you would need to add load resistors and they get really hot!

Thanks all. I thought it would be that easy. Well, it's time to search for a good write up on the parallel load resistor or jumper out the lamp controller.

Please note for others reading these threads, pay close attention to MY.
As the newer cars monitored more lights, the pin outs changed on the connectors.
I posted the pin outs for stop, side&tail for 86.5 to 85 in another thread and they are.
Side and tail, jump 4 to 7
side and tail, jump 5 to 3
stop including third, jump 1 (from brake peddel) to 11 &12.

Hi oliver87, welcome 1st post
Please re read the specs listed on the superbright web site, the leds you are referring to are for "CAN buss" technology cars, this is not used in the 928.

The 928 has a "lamp controler", it looks at circuit amperage and does a compare to a pre-set value.
There are 3 choices, jump out the lamp controler and use leds, wire load resistors inline with leds, modify the lamp controler.
