And they should. What makes them different than S4 is that they are intended for a 14" rotor. The pad is the same but they use a pin retention.

Lighter, less flex, but much more expensive.

Try to install that to "S4" steering knuckle. So far I know only two installations and they both are local.

The two component epoxy paints that are sold for calipers work BEAUTIFULLY for restoring the Big Red or Big Black (or changing colors) calipers. I re-finished both fronts and rears on my GTS and the '89 S4 track car 2 years ago, and all four of them still look new. The calipers on the track car get LOTS of hot brake dust on them, and it just washes right off with a bit ot 50/50 simple green/water. I used the white PORSCHE decals on red paint. Very well worth the time and minimal cost to rebuild all the calipers.

BC, interesting idea about upgrading to newer Porsche calipers ... has anyone done this? I wonder what rotor and caliper combinations mate to S4/GTS spindles & hubs and if adapters are needed and available?

James, careful on the rear calipers, yes the body is the same but lots of piston sizes were used for different applications. Another option would be to scare up 993 TT rears to match and machine the ears like Jim M. did. IIRC correctly, he put these on with the TT rotors, but I don't remember how he got the parking brake to play with the the rotors. If you end up with an extra set of rears in all this let me know, I'd like to get a pair powdercoated to match front Big Reds, if that color is available. Oh, one more thing, don't give up on RED, people love them and they look great on a black Porsche.

And one more thing, if you happen to need or want new front rotors for any of the GTS fleet, I have a nice pair of 965 cross-drilleds stashed away, so let me know before you buy any.

I put on the 993 TT that Roger sells and he sent everything and it was plug and play.....easy peasy and for me that is saying something....not really mechanically inclined very much!!!!

I would like to see pics of the 996 GT3 calipers swapped in. The 997 GT3 calipers would be easy.

The Carrera - 996 and 997 as well as Cayman S/Boxster S front calipers fit perfectly well on our front spindles... If you want to fit the 6-pots off the 996 GT3/Turbo S you have to make adaptor plates...

What if the car isn't black?

Cost to get new seals for these things is apparently PROHIBITIVELY expensive. Makes PC'ing them a tough choice for the time being. Not out of the question, but lots to consider vs paint and new or aftermarkets.

Seals are not expensive at all....

Great service from these guys... Not good to you on the other side of the pond for PC, but for everything else, they are cheap...

There you go. Whatever the newest stuff is, if its easy....

I just showed the pic in the light of newer designs which are mostly lighter and stiffer. If there is a specific model within that range of characteristics that fit better, then great.

Its very far from easy to install those 996 GT2 calipers. Distance between mounting holes couldn't be worse what what it is. Its almost impossible to make "normal" adapter for them. Theres also problem of many wheels not fiting around them. So far we have found TSW Montage and one version of BBS 2-piece wheels which fit. Disks are easy though. 350mm Cayenne front disks work fine and only cost around $100. Couple of local cars have been running these for years.
