That is tight. BTDT. Funny i was going to comment on that when i saw the pics.

I have a similar scar on my hood pad from my supercharger pulley....good excuse for me to keep using the smaller one.

Really looks amazing Rob

Now that looks like something Porche might have designed in the first place.

I take it as yet no before and after dyno sessions- preusmably this is on a GB stroker motor?

Has anyone designed an emoticon with saliva dribbling?

Regards

Fred

That should make a lot of torque in the mid range.

Whoa. That's an evolution of the breed/raising of the bar.

That configuration (intake runners) is also just hankering for forced induction.
Smooth radius, not conducive for knock or hot spots (as much) or odd effects from the plenums. I know....'odd'...an innacurate and unsuitably hack term for such a thread...I am a fan of the all-motor approach, just sayin'.

I realize that is spec'd for the larger displacement, if incremental gains from that layout can be demonstrated for 5.0L...well, the FAST polycarb (or whatever they are- non-metal) intakes for the LS engines usually yield 15-20HP on their own, sometimes more with a bit of tuning at a fairly appealing pricepoint. Is there adequate market for someone to do specs/mold and get such a thing into production?

Teamed with the gains from an X...well, I'd sure like to see a package that can produce near 50RWHP improvements for something nearer a commonfolk pricepoint....all in my imagination at this point though...

PS- where's the oil-fill? Does the fitting beside the rad hose disconnect? Tidy.

Where's the oil filler neck connected? I would connect it to the valve cover.

The fitting in the top of the oil fill goes to the front passenger side valve cover elbow. Greg's unconvinced it's big enough (1/2" ID) as is, but he necked down the fitting on top of the fill to use the existing breather hose, for now. The driver's side front elbow is still connected to the crankcase as before, and all the oil scavenging stuff is still in the heads. The Y-hose from stock filler neck and charcoal canister is gone, so there are no connections between the intake and the breather setup, that don't run through the Provent, which is still over in the passenger fender.

Last dyno run was 403/419, back in February. Hoping to get to the dyno tomorrow but A) there's this damned day job in the way and B) am not sure yet exactly how finicky the tuning will be, may not be comfortable doing big WOT runs by tomorrow. We'll see!

2-28-13 dyno run: Same engine, stock intake, MAF, 30 lb injectors, no cats (for dyno purposes that day only.... )
